Cindy Sheehan and her "Gold Star Families for Peace" are claiming 501(c)(3) status. This is reserved for real charities. Poltical organizations must be 501(c)(4) or a PAC. They are lobbying the president which is a direct violation of the 501(c)(3) requirements.

Gold Star Families for Peace is not listed as a non-profit in any of the lists I have access to. The IRS and Guidestar usually have pretty complete lists.
