"fight between the believers and the non-believers"

The so-called 'non-believers' comprise eighty percent of the world, and I suspect that many 'believers' only identify themselves as such to avoid being murdered by the 'true believers'. The numbers do not look good for the Islamofacists.

Essentially an Iranian superstate with bin Laden or his next in line as head of the Armed Forces.

We need a photoshopped map with Iran consuming the entire Middle East to visualize.

This article states that apparently Able Danger puts Atta in Prague with an Iraqi intel officer.

I hadn't heard that before; has anyone else heard this?

But the first state to "fall" will be Saudi Arabia, because bin Laden wants Mecca as the capital of his caliphate.

This should be tagged "MUST READ."It's amazing how many people don't understand why we're at war with those people. Those who wonder "why do they hate us?" need worry no longer; they don't hate us. They have no feeling toward us whatsoever; we're just a means an end. This is evil incarnate.

This "plan" seems to have parallels to apocalyptic scripture. I know muhammed borrowed heavily from Israelite and Christian scriptures, though I'm not that familiar with the koranic versions.

Quote from article:
-- The Seventh Phase This final stage is described as "definitive victory." ...the caliphate will undoubtedly succeed. This phase should be completed by 2020, although the war shouldn't last longer than two years.

If anyone wants to know how long the war against terror will last, here you are. Of course the enemy gets to change its mind, but there's a fair idea.

9/11 was not the start of the 'First Phase' of Islams war against western culture, they have been at war with us for over 30 years.
Has everyone forgotten the dozens of civilian aircraft hyjackings like Lockerbee; the cruise ship Achille Laure and the murder of american Leon Klinghoffer; the Berlin nightclub bombing; the Israeli Olymic teams massacre; the Somali humanitarian rescue disaster; the bombing of the US Marine barrack in Lebanon; the Khobar Tower bombing; the two US Embassy bombings in Africa; the bombing of our ship the USS Cole, or the first World Trade Center bombing, and hundreds of similar attacks against us BEFORE 9/11?
How long will it be before the western cultures wake up to the fact that Islam is a religion of hate and intollerance and their one and only goal is to make Islam the ONLY religion? These savage barbarians would murder every man, woman, and child in the name of their allah on the planet who doesn't believe as they believe!

I think you've said it very well, but it is time for the American people to come to grips with Islam's strategic goals. When President Bush tells us they hate us for our freedoms and refuses to link it to Islam, he does us a disservice. For whatever reason, the Administration will not call it as it is, and so most Americans simply believe either that all of this, including your examples, is a series of unrelated terrorist attacks. The left tells everyone that is't our fault and if we simply get out of Iraq the world will be one big bed of roses. President Bush needs to ramp up the rhetoric.

But that doesn't mean that we should simply discount everything that Hussein has uncovered. A few of the steps in the agenda are plausible. The idea that Syria will become a focus for the Mujahedin is regarded by experts as highly likely. "Close ranks, concentrate on getting more recruits, set up cells," was the call to the "Mujahedin in Syria" which appeared on one Web site at the beginning of August.

Well we already know how that one will turn out - Isaiah 17:1, "The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap."

We never get to call Islam the enemy. At some point if AQ succeeds, we get to call Sunni Islam the enemy. But at that point the Shi'ites (Iran included) will be our allies, since Shi'ites regard the Caliphate, which AQ seeks to revive as illegitimate usurpers, and Sunnis, who regard the caliphs as Mohammeds successors regard Shi'ites as heretics and almost crypto-Christians.

M - an absolutely superb letter to the editor today! It is truly one of the best I've ever seen and lays out exactly why we are at war and must stay the course. Thank you for writing it. Your townie friend, Peach

Thank you Peach. It's frustrating that more and more Americans are becoming bored with Iraq and want to move on to other issues. I think they need to be reminded continually. Not like WW2. Anyway, appreciate the kind words and I'm sure it won't be long before we see another of those great "peach" letters.

I'd like to hear the president use the exact same analogies and words that you used. My parents, who are moderates but vote Republican but listen to the MSM every night on ABC, are against this war, and nothing I say to them can convince them otherwise. But I'd like to think that your letter "got through" to them and to some others.

As long as President Bush keeps telling us that the terrorists hate us for our freedoms, more and more people will turn against the war. He is afraid to tell us that it is Islamic fanatics, who have both the wherewithall and the motivation to carry this out. And he is afraid to tell us how vulnerable many of the other countries in that region are.

I know you have been one on this board to point out that Saddam had many links to Al Qaeda, but most people still don't see the connection with Iraq and the WOT. For that we can thank the Democrats, who spent a fortune in convincing people there was no connection, simply for political purposes. But few ask why so many militants from Syria, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and a host of other nations have come to Iraq. People have been led to believe it's to push out the invaders and help Iraqis reclaim their country.

The Left in this country and Europe has given the insurgency far more than money could buy. It has given them hope. And with that hope, the leaders of the insurgency can recruit still more young men to die for Allah. Until this country comes together in support of our troops and our leaders, that hope will continue to blossom.

Good luck with your parents. That they vote Republican is a good sign and shows they are amendable to a reasonable argument.

It makes me furious that the left have undermined the WOT the way they have, and terribly sad that our troops are feeling unsupported and questioning their mission.

Some of this I fault the administration for as I feel they have not always clearly outlined some of the things that they could which would increase support for the war, i.e., that AQ was in Iraq prior to the war and that Saddam supported AQ and had an understanding on weapons development with AQ.

As well, the administration has felt it terribly important to change the tone in Washington and has been unwilling to directly take on critics/leftists of the war. This could have easily been done with commercials and sending out administration officials and leaders within the party to outline various things that you've said in your letter today and things that we've all noted on FR as to why we support the war.

For example, an effective commercial regarding the WMD issue would have been a voice-over reading the quotes of leading Democrats in 1998 when they support Clinton's Iraqi Liberation Act and talked about why we had to deal with Saddam's WMD program, including Clinton saying that Saddam's WMD program threatened the region and the United States.

Freepers could make better commercials and spokespeople sometimes. LOL

You're absolutely right on that. We may never know why, especially because it would have undermined Kerry and his ilk during the campaign. But the evidence is overwhelming as you have pointed out earlier on this board. I understand why the administration shies away from discussing how Al Qaeda wants to implement the domino theory in the Middle East, but Bush has clearly tried to take the high road with the Democrats and that is a mistake. When you hunt for snakes you'd better come armed with more than honey.

And I agree with that commercial 100%! I'm not sure the administration has any idea how effective that would be.
