At 35,000 feet, the outside temp is -80 degrees. If the cabin loses pressure, not only is there no oxygen, it's friggin cold. When a cabin loses pressure, the pilots are supposed to do a nose dive to 12,000 feet immediately where there is more atmospheric oxygen and warmer temps. Once a cabin loses pressure, however, it only takes 15-30 seconds before you can become unconscious....

When you are freezing, what is your reaction? To double up your body and try and remain warm. It's -80 degrees up there...and when the cabin loses pressure, that cold is inside the cabin as well.

Just read through this thread and I realize that there's a case to be made that the kooks offer an excellent defense against terrorism.
In assuming that everything is far more than it seems, they make what is normal fantastic, which, in turns, makes the fantastic normal. What's a poor terrorist to do? The poor S.O.B.'s are up all night wishing they'd come up with that oxygen supply trick...
