I wouldn't be surprised.

I am sure they are also trying for attacks on the US, as the FBI recently warned about that as well.

"The US warning has been circulated among law enforcement agencies and fuel transport agencies. Although a preamble states that “no other intelligence exists to corroborate this specific threat”, the intelligence report is highly specific.

It says: “Al-Qaeda leaders plan to employ various types of fuel trucks as vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (VBIED) in an effort to cause mass casualties in the US (and London), prior to September 19. Attacks are planned specifically for New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. It is unclear whether the attacks will occur simultaneously or be spread over a period of time. The stated goal is the collapse of the US economy.”

I think you mean Cindy Sheehan at Crawford, Texas...

(Cindy Sheehan does not resemble Cindy Crawford!)

Cindy Crawford? Maybe you mean Cindy Sheheen, who has being canonized this weekend in Crawford, Texas, by the alphabet media.

The little local newspaper up here in Lafollette, TN just ran a story last week about a truck driver from here who turned up missing. It didn't state whether or not he drove a fuel truck.

This is a little weekly newspaper, without a web site. So I'll try to get more info and post when I can.

Wouldn't hurt to keep an eye on these types of stories. It wouldn't surprise me if these cowards didn't try to pull something like this.

Yes, please post additional info, if you find any.

Since the attack timeframe states prior to Sept. 19th, that would indicate that they are planning to do something within the next month.

Hey! No problem! "Cindy Crawford" is a pretty hilarious nickname. I vote we spread it around! The Left will be incensed!

Its okey dokey, we knew what you meant.

This is a scary topic. Think of the hundreds of trucks that pass thru any town any time of the day. Other than FR, I have not seen this in print or on local TV news...this is the type of warning that should be spread. Thousands of eyes watching truck stops, terminals, etc., are a deterent.

Maybe the DOT should mandate 12 gauge shotguns as required equipment on tanker trucks.

The number 2 Al Qaeida guy Al Zawahiri (sp) stated there would be attacks soon. I find it hard to believe these groups are not related in some way and someone is orchestrating these attacks. They might be unrelated cells but there is a puppet master out there somewhere.

Will Mother "Crocodile Tears" Cindy Sheehan be driving one of the fuel trucks?

Your right I think. These tanker drivers should go around armed. Lot easier to hijack a fuel tanker than an aircraft.

Some additional info I found:

As of May 2nd, the New York Post reported that the New Jersey tanker had not yet been found. The same story also notes:

Tanker trucks are common tools of the global terrorist trade:

In 1996, a tanker truck loaded with at least 5,000 pounds of plastic explosives barreled through the Khobar Towers residential complex in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, killing 19 American servicemen.

In April 2002, a gas tanker truck crashed into a Tunisian synagogue, killing 21 people.

In May 2002, a remote-controlled bomb was used to blow up a fuel tanker at Israel's largest fuel depot in Tel Aviv.
Last May, chemical and fuel-laden trucks were used in three simultaneous terrorist attacks on housing complexes in Saudi Arabia; the blasts killed 35 people, including eight Americans.

Last summer, the Philippines arrested its most wanted Islamic terrorist, Saifullah (Muklis) Yunos, who confessed to plotting an extensive bombing campaign that included filling an empty gas tanker with ammonium nitrate and sawdust and detonating it in front of the presidential residence in Manila.

If they blow up my favorite service station I might have to start getting annoyed.

I think they are loosely tied together but not directly tied together.

Once the brainwashing takes place and the hate takes over all they need is the technical skills and a target.

One small group, without a specific leader, could still create a lot of damage. The leaders will take the credit anyway.

A very difficult enemy.
