Several things...this woman was actually reveling in the fact that she comes from a "rogue" (her word) parish.

Supported her old priest, one of 9 in the diocese (who were asked to withdraw their signatures by our bishop) in their signed petition with other ecumenical clergy in the area in support of Gay and Lesbian affairs. He resigned as priest last year, because he refused to withdraw his name.

(and no, she is not gay)

Is trying to get the new young priest to "loosen up" there...His masses are not upbeat enough. He recently brought back the bells during the Consecration, and brought back the tabernacle behind the altar (that upset the "EM"s...), and...*gasp!*...actually recites some Latin during the Consecration!

"We can't 'go back' to pre-Vat II...The Church must move 'forward." Her comment..."it's OUR Church, not his! A shepherd should lead, not 'brow-beat!'"

"The mass is a 'celebration.'" I responded, "Isn't it 'a sacrifice?" She responded, "it's a 'celebration of the sacrifice.'"

Then there was the Bush bashing, how she thought that it was wrong for the Church to use abortion as a "litmus" test for every candidate, and because "we can't have "Bush's version of religion', that's not right" (as opposed to Kerry's???)

I had to say (as I was treating her, so I had to be "sympathetic") that The Church has to stand by what they teach, that God must come first, before politics, ect...she didn't agree when it came to a politician..."they represent everyone".

I said, "Okay, agreed. But will that matter come judgment day?"

I got no answer.

Does this woman have any knowledge of scripture? I ask this because the "parish" I grew up in never encouraged the reading of the Bible. Only the excerpts read at mass.
It sounds like she has a limited Biblical view, for that she requires prayer. Especially when she is out there preaching a message, religious or otherwise.

Oh boy, oh boy! Unbelievable!

This is what bugs me the most:

Then there was the Bush bashing, how she thought that it was wrong for the Church to use abortion as a "litmus" test for every candidate,

She obviously has her own ideas about what constitutes Catholicism. I bet she's pro-abortion- pro-same sex marriage, and pro-everything anti-catholic. Good grief.
