Last night basil was at the store shopping when a man approached her and told her that he loved her sign. She thought he was talking about the SAS magnet on the side of her car but he told her that he meant the "W" sticker. She told him about today's rally. He said that he was sorry that he couldn't attend but gave her $20 and told her to buy some water for the people attending! Awesome, huh?

It is SO easy to send stuff to our troops. And it does not cost that much either. I know the stuff I send Old Sarge is not just for him. What I send gets shared out to a lot of men and women over there. I also write on the boxes I send because I know other service people see the message. "We support our troops", "Far away, but not forgotten". I also pack small US flags in the boxes. As for here, send lunch to your local recruiter. Thank a Vet. It only takes a few minutes to do any of this and you and I know it makes a BIG difference in the life of a service person. Thanks so much for all you do, WUAV! If you're not already in contact with Patty, you should be. :-)

As an aside, Fox is doing a 2 hour special on the Fallujah operation tonight at 9 EST hosted by John Scott. It sounds like it's going to be pretty good.

BTTT for the Texas Freepers and all the other folks who traveled from near and far to show support for our troops, our president and our country!
If only we could have moved our meeting to Crawford today (but the Halliburton paychecks didn't arrive in time).
Sources tell me that there will be fresh peach (and apple and cherry) pie, cakes, barbecue, burgers, dogs and all the fixin's. Getting ready to head out now.

Great suggestions, Tonk! For those who cannot attend, they can STILL make a difference to our troops and their families.
Here are a few handy suggestions and links (How to Help our Heroes) from our site.

Time to quit giving these anti war nuts free publicity. If you're saying you disapprove of these "Support the Troops" rallies, then we disagree there. The anti-war nuts get free publicity with or without our presence. But our troops and their families like to see us standing up to those America haters.

Awwww....goosebumps!
Reminds me of all the Vote-Count debacle.... Every Saturday we assembled on the same busy intersection and waved our W signs amidst thumbs up signs from drivers....
One car stopped hard, and the woman passenger hollered, "We live out of town but we decided we'd drive in so we could join you guys! We just KNEW you'd all be here again today!"
I think they became FReepers too! ;-)
Warmed my heart!
