saturated meat and dairy fats

What in the world are saturated meats and dairy fats? I have never seen them listed on the nutritional information.

Hey, get that meat out of the water. It's getting saturated!

Actually, Bush got the ball rolling on this one but NY is gonna screw it up big time, at least for themselves - Maybe the rest of us too, this is going to have a huge impact on McDonalds and Wendy's and all that greeezy nasty cheap stuff. Trans-fats don't really exist in nature except in a small amount in certain animal fats. They are created in a manufactured process so that they will last longer. Why? Mold doesn't even consider it food.

My dad, the avid runner/swimmer/golfer ex-army, actually got his cholesterol down about a hundred points just by cutting this one thing out of his diet.

Bush is the one that pushed through legislation that will force new food labeling to show exactly how much of this substance is in your food. It isn't in effect yet, but companies that DON'T use it have begun to voluntarily show it on their products. Off the top of my head, I am thinking about General Mills Cereals.

Ruby Tuesdays is a quality restaurant in my opinion, and they recently took the substance out of their menu. I actually like it better there now. It seems fresher, and my stomach doesn't yell at me afterwards - even if I get the spicy ribs & onion rings.

NY is just stupid. They're gonna create a mess by trying to speed up what the corporations are already doing. Bush changed things with a light touch, just by threatening to spread information - and the markets are "correcting themselves". NY, in trying to speed up the process, is only going to hike prices way up. This might even have a national effect as the companies scramble to change themselves overnight.

NEW YORK (AP) -- New York City wants restaurants to narrow their list of ingredients - and maybe some waistlines - by cutting out trans fats. The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene said the voluntary change could also help fight the city's biggest killer, heart disease.

The New York State Restaurant Association supports the effort, Executive Vice President E. Charles Hunt said in a health department release Wednesday.

What th' heck do they want to do, put their own members out of business???

It's a miracle! New York City has finally learned to talk. It is now giving orders to the people directly. It no longer has to speak first to Mayor Bloomberg and get him to carry out the "City's" orders.

The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene

If I had known this animal existed, would I have moved here? Oh, I suppose I would have, because it's New York.

Imagine a time when it's illegal to do anything that some insurance company decides is too risky...what will we do then, when virtually every activity, every thought and expressed intention is regulated either by persuasion or coercion or force...

Suicides will increase, violent outbursts will increase, alcoholism and mental illness will increase, lawsuits will increase, heavy handed government will increase to try to enforce more control over people to curb the chaos...why did I get started on this?

we'd better do all we can to make sure it doesn't happen.
