Mexican Radio- I remember buying this album for that one song. I was a senior in high school. I went to Six Flags Over Georgia to see a twin bill featuring Bow Wow Wow as the headliner (Remember the 14 year old chick with the Mohawk singing "I want Candy.") and Wall of Voodoo as the opening act. They were very bad. By the second song, people were screaming for them to sing Mexican Radio. I remember them covering "Ring of Fire" in this show. That was hilarious. People were screaming, "Get off the stage Wall of Doo-Doo!"....lol.

Captain Of Her Heart
~ Double ~
One of the few Swiss acts to achieve chart success in the United States, Double earned their place as a one-hit wonder when "The Captain of Her Heart" climbed to number 16 on the U.S. charts in late 1986. Their first album Blue featured the breezy song, underpinned by a soft jazz feel. It became a major smash in Europe and by the end of 1986, had crossed the Atlantic. Double were unable to capitalize on the single's appeal, and, after putting out two more albums, the duo disbanded in 1987. Despite their slight output, "The Captain of Her Heart" has maintained Double a presence on retro 80s radio playlists.

How about the yodling Aussie Frank Ifield's
I Remember You.
A great old one hit wonder that precious few people will remember, until they hear it for possibly the first time in 40 years. (Click on the RealAudio icon in the top left corner of the page.)

Timothy
~ The Buoys ~
The Buoys were one of a group of one-hit wonders from the early 1970s. Billy Kelly (lead vocals), Fran Bozena (keyboards), Gerry Hludzik (bass), Chris Hanlon (guitar), and Carl Siracuse (drums), from Wilkes-Barre, PA., generated a Top 20 hit in 1971 with the cannibalistic mine cave-in tale "Timothy," written by Rupert Holmes, who also played some of the keyboards on their album for the Scepter label. (Holmes later had his own chart success as a singer with "Escape {The Pina Colada Song}" and the lessor hit "Him," before embarking on a career on Broadway with "The Mystery of Edwin Drood" in the late 1980s.)
The Buoys vanished from the charts and the airwaves after two additional, far more modest chart entries in the top 100, "Bloodknot" and "Give Up Your Guns," but later moved to the Polydor label before dissolving in the mid-1970s. Kelly and Hludzik subsequently returned a decade after "Timothy" as part of a group named Dakota.
