POLICE FIND 7 BOMBS AFTER SUSPECT DIES IN GERMAN BLAST

Barbing, Germany (dpa) - German police discovered seven bombs Friday just hours after the suspected bomber was killed in an explosion as he tried to rig a bomb under the van of an ethnic Turk.

Police, who ruled out any terrorist or racist motive, safely detonated three of the bombs they found on a terrace outside the small-town home of the intended victim, a 66-year-old Turkish-born German national.

The suspect appeared to have planned an explosive welcome for his victim, who arrived home Friday from a trip abroad. Police said they were interviewing the victim and would try to discover if the two men had had a personal or business relationship.

Police declined to release the name of the 67-year-old man who accidentally blew himself up at 2 a.m. Friday while planting one of the devices. Shocked residents ran outside in nightwear in the quiet, leafy housing estate of Barbing, 110 kilometres north of Munich.

Hours later, police searched the suspect's Munich apartment and found two pipe bombs inside and two more in a garage behind the building. Experts said the bombs were fairly sophisticated, but the devices in Munich were not primed and could be removed.

More than 1,000 persons were evacuated at different localities in Bavaria for fear of more blasts during the searches.

The rest of the article makes me think these Germans are blind to reality. The intended victim was an ethnic Turk. So? Maybe the bomber was too, but they don't tell us that. On the other hand, the guy was going to plant 7 bombs. Yet, he's not a terrorist? Come on.

There has been no investigation whatsoever, yet the already know it couldn't possibly be a terrorist act?

They guy kills himself with one of his own bombs and has seven more, but he is not a terrorists? Maybe he was planning on using the other seven on the rest of his neighbors.
