LOL, I think that is funny, but social grouping along common interests is natural. If it inhibits health social interaction than anything can be a bad thing. Like drinking at bar, I would rather be a Trekkie than a drunk.
What is needed in this world is an open mind; we don't need to be the same. Call me a geek because I think Science fiction often presents the hope and wishes for a better future which sometimes is sometimes Utopian in nature.

No worries there...my neighbor is a big trekkie, we watched it a lot when I was younger...I'm just poking fun at it...Voyager fan here
