I'm guessing by liberal they mean "votes democrat", but the 2 aren't necessarily synonomous on every issue.

Indeed. To say that Birmingham, Alabama is more liberal than Austin is hilarious!

I bet that the folks in Austin are P!SSED! Bwahahaha...

They just didn't make the top 25.

New Orleans was 26th most liberal.
Ann Arbor was 27.
Portland was 29.
Madison was 34.
Los Angeles was 37.
Eugene, OR was 54.
Austin was 93.
Sioux Falls, SD was 188.

Jackson, Mississippi was listed as 46 AND 47 for some reason.
