I came back from the first womans bloggers conference, that happened in Santa Clara California about two weeks ago, and I am really touched by what you said about how one person may not be able to chhange the world,but one person with a million other people, especially through the internet can change the world,how did you get involved with blogs, because I think,

(17:07)(Cindy)You know what...I still dont really understand,I still dont really understand much about whatblogs are but, I know, but you all probably know that I just didnt come out of the woodwork last saturday and start this, I have been working for peace, Ive been... everything that I write goes out on the internet and everything, and I know the downing street memos and the daily kose blogged lot about me but I really don't know what they are.

(Cindy)I am going to ask him what the noble cause was that Casey died for, because I dont believe that a war of aggression against a country that was no threat to the United States of America is a noble cause...and I want him.. But i know what the reason what Dan Sokowsky (SP?) said is the noble cause...is the real reason. I want to ask him if it is such a noble cause ahh does he encourage his daughters to enlist

and take the place of some soldiers who might want to come home..because we have stop loss and they are held hostage over there
and another thing I want him to do is to stop saying that we have to honor the sacrifices of the fallen by completing the mission, because number one he has no idea what the mission is
and it keeps changing every day, they are building bases

Watching Msnbc and CNN is still leading with Natalie Holloway and stories like that..thats like the protests last year and the year before and the year before that, its like a tree in the forest, we get all excited talking about it,but if they dont report it your thoughts on them not making this into what we really think it is

(Cindy)... a lot of people have a lot of at stake keeping this occupation going the money and we all know who owns NBC, and I dont want to accuse anybody, but if they were truly reporting the news effectively they would be reporting this, because this..trust me this is a much bigger story than Natalie Holloway, which is a tragedy for one family, but what we are trying to do here is save the...millions of families from going through tragedy.

(Cindy 21:05) it is getting a lot of mainstream attention I do have to point out that is most gratifying, that this is putting the war back on the front pages and back in the news where it belongs,and it belongs there everyday, whether a grieving mother is sitting outside in front of a ranch in Crawford or not you know we have to realise we are a nation at war, and if it was not for the internet we would not know what was going on over there.

21:39(female voice)One of the things I wanted to mention, I'm a poplog(?)and I have done a lot of protesting with police, and the thing I have discovered is if you dont move,its interesting its like a predator,they cant...they dont hurt you, if you simply stand still... for all the protesters if you pick your place and refuse to move it will really help....

(Trippi) First of all thank you all for showing up on todays call, this is a real important blog call
ahh and for Cindy to come on and give you an update, its really important.I really want to make two things clear, one is the reason the call is being recorded is so that we can podcast it and put it up as MP3 later on, that is the reason the operator informed you that. The second thing is at the ahh end of ahh Cindy's talk we will open up the lines for Q&A, so right now its listen only so we don't have any crosstalk while she is talking, and if you can all release the lines for Q&A, anyone who is not talking just mute thier phone, so we dont have that crosstalk problem.

(Bob)And we built a new site for Cindy last week at meetwithcindy.org,we are overwhelmed with traffic, but we are blogging there on the ahh tremendous work that she is doing and the help she is getting from people all over the country, ahh and the tremendous ahh effort she is getting from allies like Code Pink, and Military Families Speak Out, and Veterans for Peace that are working with her, and this is ahhh, Cindy is making history, and but she is also leading a movement, and she is up against the adversity of the weather,and some hostile forces in the media, I am sure you have all read about that, I am sure you have seen the answers to those questions, and we can get into that in more detail. Now let me just introduce Cindy.
We worked with Cindy in June when she testified in Congress at John Conyers hearings on the Downing Street minutes, ahh when she was forced into a basement room, ahh but Cindy has been carrying on this crusade for a year now, this is nothing new for Cindy, ahhh but she is finally being heard. Cindy?

(Cindy 2:47)Umm, Hi everybody, umm thank you so much for everything everybody is doing,I am so overwhelmed and amazed at all the support this is getting, and all of the...ummm I really think it is a miracle, I think it was very umm serendipitous that I had this idea and it just mushroomed you know what I attribute it to the internet and the blogosphere that got everything out.

You know umm Saturday night when I put it out, when we put it out that the secret service was trying to intimidate us into leaving, it went all over the blogosphere and the internet and I just wanted everybody to know that if something happened to us it would probably have been the secret service, (3:30)and they knew that, you know they watch the blogs and the stuff too, and you know this is something that can't be ignored, and they can't ignore us and they can't shut us down. And umm like I said this is truly amazing, and thank God, thank God for the internet or we wouldn't know anything and we would already be a fascist state.

And you know our government is run by one party every level and the mainstream media is a propaganda tool for the government and if we didn't have the internet none of us would really know what was truly going on, and I have said since my friend died, and the elections, you know the elections, quote unquote,that happened in November that it is we the people that have to cause the change, and I never got involved before Casey was killed because I didn't think that one person can make a difference,but one person can't make a difference, but one person with millions of people behind her can make a difference.
And really, from the bottom of my heart,and deeper than that, I thank all of you.
