"This has blown up in their faces"
Rush was talking about this today. He said that it always grated on him when the hearings were going on and they sat there pointing fingers and insinuating and acting all arrogant and smug - and the "jersey girls" would be there every day clapping at the most inappropriate moments.
And now .. like you said .. it "has all blown up in their faces". I want to see Gorelick go down.
Well .. that's what they said about the UN oil for food mess .. and it's still going - mainly because of FOX.
But .. if the FBI had taken the information and broken up the cell and arrested Atta - I don't believe 9/11 would have happened - not the way it did. It was still a year away - and the final planning would have gone undone.
Of course, I suppose it's possible that another member of the group would have taken over - but it could have meant fewer attacks.
Well .. I'm tending toward that too .. because the info had to be worth Sandy getting caught. That to me says that the name "Atta" had to be gotten rid of.
And .. the statements by some of the committee that when they got that info .. they dismissed it because it didn't fit in with the direction they were going. I believe Gorelick had already led them away from the "Atta" information.
I didn't get that impression at all. In fact, I've seen him on FOX twice now and he makes it very clear this all took place during the Clinton admin. I'm sure he was well aware the goal was to blame Bush.
Well .. I for one want the democrats held accountable for their GROSS NEGLIGENCE OF OUR NATIONAL SECURITY. And .. I sure would like to see Gorelick get some kind of punishment for her part in this gross negligence.
There you go, I'm afraid I cheated on you last night! Lots of good posts tonight and Sheehans family is begging her to stop - on Drudge Report!
Oh yeah!
Yeah, I've heard that too .. and her "wall" did prevent foreign and domestic law enforcement from talking to each other .. so I suspect it had something to do with it.
According to Weldon, the intel committees of Congress were informed .. so who's lying. Weldon was part of the intel committee group - and since he knows about it I would have to presume the rest of the intel committee's knew also.
Nobody wants to admit they were informed about this because it's very damning.
I agree with you .. I think this is exactly what they were trying to hide. It had to be something WORTH getting caught stealing - and the name "Atta" on any of those documents would have been dynamite.
"So government failed us again."
Let's clarify that shall we .. THE CLINTON ADMINISTRATION FAILED IN THEIR DUTY TO PROTECT THE USA.
"Nobody wants to admit they were informed about this because it's very damning."
Boy isn't that the truth.
I hope people realize that if Hillary should happen to get elected to the WH - Gorelick will be ATTORNEY GENERAL - and there will be "Hell to pay".
I also sent email to the commission and to my Washington State senators expressing my chagrin that Ms. Gorelick was on the commission.
The plot to down the Trade Towers could have been uncovered had it not been for political correctness. An investigation must start and some resignations and confessions need to take place.
I think the whole 9-11 thing and the subsequent war in Iraq would not have occurred had interrogations of Atta taken place.
Of course, we had to wait until the boys came back into town to clean up the undermining of our Nation by the Clinton Admin.
It's a mess and I'd like to see Gorelick at the microphone tomorrow.
I'm reading "First Strike" - the story about TWA 800.
From my first glimpse of the debris on the water .. I said outloud then .. a missle blew it up .. and I've never changed my mind.
and the republicans in Washington are too afraid of democrats to demand the truth!~
