Today promises to be a record hot day in Fairbanks. 80-90. Yesterday was 79 in the shade. This is probably due to the Clinton/McCain global warming field trip to Alaska.
Summer will be over soon, then we can start global cooling in the northern hemisphere.

Freaking idiots, of COURSE the greenies are going to claim this as proof of GW, the media really needs to get another point of view out there. This is a serious issue that deserves some real facts, truth, and perspective, sheesh..
Wasn't it warmer in Europe during Roman times....then cooled...

I'm not about to draw conclusions from 10 years worth of data over a thirty year period, which accounts for only .00000075% of the earth's climatic history.
The global warning rats always come out in the summer where people are more apt to feed them.
In the freezing cold winter, they crawl back into their nests, keep their lying jaws shut for fear their propaganda will be exposed, and wait for their next chance to feed on the ignorant again in the spring.
The Earth goes through natural cycles. It has nothing to do with us. Get used to it.

The news story said "European capital cities". The reason for the elevated temperature is self-evident: There too many politicians bloviating.
If there were to be a truly serious effort to have an accurate understanding of temperatures minus local reradiation effects and power dissipation effects, then we'd see funding of the installation of remote controlled weather stations on mountain tops, on remote uninhabited islands and in the middles of deserts. Instead, the doomers waste money on papers to prove their agenda and on endless computer simulations that are rigged. Cut them off now!

True about most controversies, but global warming is waaaay beyond that old shell game.
The beauty of global warming is that you no longer need to cherry pick data. ALL data proves the theory!
If it rains more, it proves global warming. If it rains less, it proves global warming. If it snows in Bora Bora, it proves global warming. If a frog in Shnitzville Ohio goes extinct, it proves global warming.
That's why global warming is the greatest scientific theory ever invented. And if you disagree with that, your very disagreement proves global warming.
Those cities have expanded dramatically in the last 30 years. Where I lived, 30 years ago there was one city and several surrounding small towns separated by lots of farm land. Now it's all connected with miles and miles of roads and parking lots.
I wonder if all that heat-absorbing asphalt has anything to do with higher local temperatures.
