NEW HAVEN A two-hour animal rights demonstration on the Green Monday sparked outrage instead of sympathy from the public.
"This is the most racist thing Ive ever seen on the Green. How dare you," roared Philip Goldson, 43, of New Haven at the protest organizers at Church and Chapel streets.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, a national animal rights group, posted giant photographs of people, mostly black Americans, being tortured, sold and killed, next to photographs of animals, including cattle and sheep, being tortured, sold and killed.

Shame. If I had known in advance I would have gone by with a bucket of KFC and passed it out.
Is that why PETA slaughtered all those animals, so they could photograph them. PETA routinely rounds up stray animals to 'save them', but their budget does not permit them to actually save the animals, so they end up killing thousands of them. It is expensive to run ad campaigns you know.

No, it is calculated. It is pure PR. Peta wanted attention and they have recieved it. Audicity in protest will result in extended coverage.
People for Eating Tasty Animals
I spelled audacity wrong...dangit.
Someone should do a demographic study on the membership of PETA and the enviromental movement. Basically these exist so as to make privileged white kids politically useful while sheltering them away from the Left's race based hate machine which might scare them away from the Democratic party.
HUH? I understand that Africans were brought to America, and sold, and some tortured and killed. But who was taking photographs? Time travellers? Space aliens?
PETA is run by a loony Brit, Ingrid Newkirk.
I'm snickering at the idea of some long-haired hippie trying to splain himself..... "But I am down with the struggle, my soul brother. Give me five. We shall overcome.".
It boggles the mind that they actually thought this was appropriate ... even in their context of "appropriate."
"Momma always told me............"
Freakin' un-be-leavable!
They've taken the video down on PETATV...
The first photo was made by Niépce in 1827 and photography was well established by 1850, so photos are definitely possible.
Tanks.

"I am a black man! I cant compare the suffering of these black human beings to the suffering of this cow," said Michael Perkins, 47, of New Haven. He stood in front of a photo of butchered livestock hung next to the photo of two lynched black men dangling before a white mob.
"You cant compare me to a freaking cow," shouted John Darryl Thompson, 46, of New Haven, inches from Carrs face. "We dont care about PETA. You are playing a dangerous game..."
