"Most [focus group participants] referred to Democrats as 'liberal' on issues of morality, but some even go so far as to label them 'immoral,' 'morally bankrupt,' or even 'anti-religious,'" report Karl Agne and Stan Greenberg from Democracy Corps."

Let's not forget Nancy Pelosi's "religious remark" about the judges of the Supreme Court being "like the voices of God" after they ruled that private property was up for sale in the Kelo case. That pretty much shows where her values lie.

They don't get it. They still think most Americans are too attached to God, Country and Family. The things the Left loathes but would never say honestly for they would lose even more elections. Talk about being caught between a rock and a hard place. Its still about values, stupid.

The reason that the dems will never gain ground with this is the simple fact that "moral values" are a constant and all of us as persons are defined by the moral values that we individually have.The dems think that they can be the persons that they want to be and define or more accurately re-define moral values to fit themselves.

I realize Pres. Bush is a politician, but he at least seems to know someone who lives outside the beltway, unlike most of these folks who claim Americans think Dims have pushed the moral values thing under the bed forever.
On the other hand, Repubs need to remember that they are a political party and not the church.

These are the issues that got me on the republican side in the first place. Growing up, I considered myself a democrat, thinking that democrats were for the "little guy" while republicans were for businessmen.
As I grew up, the assault on traditional, Norman Rockwell type American values started to creep into my political thinking, which was simple-minded to begin with. I am not a Bible-thumping fundementalist, but those that are had a very good point that the values that built America, God & Country, were not only being assaulted, but actively disdained by the Left. That means the Left disdains me.
Average folks see this. The Left hates the America we love. The America we love defines who we are as political citizens. Therefore, to many folks, the conclussion is that the Left hates them.

these attitudes were most powerfully captured in symbolic issues such as display of the Ten Commandments in public buildings, removing God from the Pledge of Allegiance, or outlawing public manger displays at Christmastime. On each of these symbolic cases in point, there was a broad perception that Republicans would be on the side of American tradition, Judeo-Christian values, and the forgotten majority while Democrats would stand up and fight for a subversive minority seeking to erode the moral foundation of our country. And some folks here thought people of faith would fall for the lies coming out of the Democrat mouths since the election.

Let's look at the dim leadership:
Kennedy=killer
Pelosi=out of touch shrew
Kerry=giggalo
algore=illrelevent
Hillery Clinton=lying,thieving,murdering,conniver.
Yeah a mirror image of America as presented by the Democrat party.

The liberal media monopoly has been broken, the game is over. Never again will the MSM be able to spin their lies without being called out on the carpet by alternative media sources such as talk radio and the Internet. The old media is dying and the new media is young and strong.
The old king is almost dead, the new king is young and will reign for many many years!
Liberal is a dirty word meaning shameful behavior or destructive social activity. It also means one who lacks a loyalty to their own country and the foundation which it was constructed on. Like lepers, they will soon run to the shadows in shame and fear recognition as to what they are.

Moral Absolutes Ping.
Heheh. They just don't get it, never will, can't. The moral relativist/secularist/atheist[or faux believers for show]/pro-abortion/homosexualist/feminist/socialists (aka "Democrats") cannot fathom the consciousness of someone whose moral values are based on the bedrock of religious tenets given by God.
They cannot see because their hands are tightly pressed on their eyes, and their fingers jammed into their ears (figuratively speaking.)
Okay, here are two questions for you:
1. How many of you became conservative, after being liberal?
2. Of those, how many used to be non-religious (or even atheist) and liberal, became a believer in God, and then became conservative?
My personal answers to both questions are "Yes".
They'll never, never, get it. It's a sham, a facade, a false front, an advertising problem. It's almost funny, it's embarrassing, it's like watching someone make a total fool of themselves in public, like someone on the bus wearing underwear because he forgot to put on trousers and hasn't realized it. And thinks everyone else is ill-dressed.
Freepmail me if you want on/off this pinglist.

Rush had all kinds of fun with this one today. Poor old Howard Dean - it must have looked so easy to him, scamming those red-state yokels by telling them that Jesus preached high taxes, abject surrender to Islam and partial-birth abortion as the way to salvation. Who'da thunk we'd see right through the schtick? After all, we put Chimpy Bushitler in office (with a little help from Diebold and the Jooooos)!
For all of you lurking leftists out there, far be it from you enlightened ones to take any advice from some wafer-eating hick trash like myself, but here goes anyway. Do yourselves a favor and drop the phony religious act. Stop trying to convince us that Jesus even knew what an SUV was, that He and Peter spent His last days on earth bickering over whether they would buy the fuscia or the mauve drapes for their love den, and that His Death and His Ressurection were nothing more than some twisted sexual bondage fantasy cooked up by Mel Gibson to sell movie tickets.
If you do all this, we still won't vote for you, but at least we won't laugh at you as much. Oh yeah, and learn one basic fact of life - you generally don't make friend and influence people by calling them ignorant, bigoted and evil.
But knowing how well you take advice, I know that what I just typed is a waste. Besides, you're too busy trying to get the latest religious-sounding script from George Lakoff (rhymes with ...) to bother lurking FR right now, aren't you?
