Let us hope your analysis is correct. Problem with the beltway gang is you can murder someone in broad daylight and get away with it. One things for sure. Political revenge should not enter into it. If people screwed up royaly perhaps they should be forgiven to an extent, but I don't include the Burger man for instance, in the forgiveness mode. He was the national security advisor to the POTUS, he did so much damage as I see it during that admin that no breaks should be afforded him. That latest caper with the sock and jock strap stuffing simply shows he has no honor nor integrity, and if he can be proven to have doctored and or destroyed classified docs fromo the national archive on this issue then he better receive a frigen chain and ball.
