Sheehan has said that her son died for Israel, not for the US. The implication is that the US is a puppet of Israel, a nearly-universal canard of all modern anti-semites.

Kneejerkitis is a common problem, but not with this thread. Sheehan IS an unabashed jew-hater.

I disagree iconoclast. As an ex-leftist, I can tell you that, almost 100% of the time, when the leftist slime excoriates Israel, it's because he is a jew-hater. If you keep talking to them, they will ALWAYS slip and instead of saying "the Israelis" are doing this and that horrible thing to those poor poor Palestinians, they will end up with an anti-jew rant. And while Sheehan was critizing American policy of course, its quite clear she was also slamming Israeli policy, and of course, the Jews. It's a part and parcel of leftist talking points and believe me, they do hate the Jews. It's part of what drove me away from the Democratic party, that and waking up to their insane hatred of this country.
