I spotted that tagline as well.
Easy to visualize.
"Allah WTF."
What we need is more AK-monkey-pumper smack-down.

lp, this reads better than any war novel.

The enemy specifically tries to kill them.....and they keep on trying. They don't get too many of us but somedays we're the bug and somedays we're the windshield.

Prayers up for those that wear the crab....

"I hope my Grandson is getting the real deal in his training as he prepares to go over there! "

May the good Lord keep HIS almighty hand over your grandson, and bring him home whole in body and spirit after he completes his honorable upcoming duty. I salute them all.
Thanks for the ping. Michael Yon is truly one of the few over there that gives it straight. No bullshit. As some of us know, one of the TV folks might ask him questions loaded with negative conotations, and he responds in a flash with the realities. So many times the looks on their faces seem downcast after quizing him to see he will not go along with their little games. He probably has really bonded with those soldiers. Shame he can't at least carry a 9mm pistol.

Thanks for this most worthy posting. Being an independent reporter, he can afford to tell the truth, we are winning over there far more then even the balanced occasional article brings out.

I'm glad to see Michael Yon's work is getting noticed. I hope a lot of freepers and lurkers will click through to his site.

Great military reporters like him a rare, and too easily lost (like Michael Kelly and Stephen Vincnet).

500 views in 2 hours is decent, but we could do better here.

Some flash from Aruba could get that in 15 minutes.

There is a reason Fox spents so much of their precious air time following such stories.

Thanks for the ping. They should be allowed to turn ol' stripey-shirt over to the Iraqis.

Thanks '68. Monkey-pump smack-down... indeed.

Wretchard is great, but I don't want everyone slowing that site down. Maybe it's better to allow certain to filter things into FR, seems that's what it for...

Regards.

if Sun Tzu or Michael Savage were running this war we would BOMB that entire neighborhood and we should

Doubtful, Sun Tzu believed in diplomacy and avoiding unnessary battles. Much better to conquer the enemy without firing a shot was his ideology. If Sun Tzu was running this war, he'd bomb CNN and certainly AlJeezera(sp) long before considering mass extermination as a viable option.
