"Alan Moore, co-creator of the "V For Vendetta" comic, has publicly disassociated himself from the upcoming Warner Brothers movie project based on the comic book and written and produced by the Wachowski Brothers."

Wachowski Brothers... that says it all.
First of all, they aren't brothers anymore. The one freak turned himself into an approximation of a hideous woman.
Secondly, the Wachowskis made 1 good movie, The Matrix. That was when they were nobodies and the studio could rein them in. Once the Wachowskis had a success and got powerful, they had a free hand to do what they wanted. So they made 2 unintelligible horrible movies.

This is one I won't see, and won't miss.

First George Lucas, now the Wachowski brothers -- Natalie Portman must have a thing for bad writers and bad dialogue.

And yes, the Matrix sequels were awful. But I saw the poster for V For Vendetta at a theater recently, and its tag line was;

"People should not fear their governments, Governments should fear their people"

You could make an argument that that expresses a somewhat conservative viewpoint in the way that conservatives generally fear a federal govt that is too powerful, and that does not rely on the consent of the governed, and that would seek to take away Second Amendment rights. Now having said that, I'm sure that never crossed the minds of the filmmakers, as they instead will probably make the fascist British govt a thinly veiled representation of the Bush administration.

But really, all I know about the plot is what I've read here, so maybe I shouldn't assume it will be a Bush bash, but then again its probably more likely than not.
