I agree even though I find him at times reflecting certain biases. I believe he's definitely not a social conservative. My sense in watching him on the recent Frist flip-flop is that he flipped himself on the issue.
I haven't heard him speak on the issue but wouldn't wonder that having been paralyzed decades ago by a spinal cord injury he might see possibilities in some forms of research for himself or others in his situation.
I believe he has an MD degree and is somehow connected with the medical ethics business. Don't get me wrong. I like Charles, but I think on the stem cell issue he's wobbly, probably for the reasons you cite. I just can't see killing a child to save a geezer, even Krauthammer.
