Someone should ask his boss, the Mayor, why his Chief of Police isn't doing EVERYTHING he can do now, within the bounds of the Consititution, to be aggresively pursuing crime and criminals. His statement of "more aggresive style of policing" implies that he either isn't doing everything he possibly can today, or that he intends to go beyond what the Consititution currently allows if CCW passes in Wisconsin.

The thing we always hated was the Chief, Sheriff, ( in our case the Director ) speaking out against guns on any topic really and saying they spoke for all their officers. BS, very rarely did I side with administrations views of the public right for self-defense. All that take precautions crap, take a self-defense course, and leave the policing to us garbage, I hated it. The police cannot be everywhere and guys on the road know that fact. It is the local DA and administrator ( usually a guy with minimal street experience that rose through the ranks or politically appointed ) that makes the blanket statement about lock your doors and call 911 etc...
