But how many new ones have opened? Hospitals are businesses, very good businesses, and like other businesses, less profitable units are closed and more profitable ones opened. Everyone wants to go to the new, clean, modern hospital with the latest equipment, especially since the cost is the same and insurance or medicare/medicaid is paying for it.
