The answer to the medical insurance problem is so simple that I don't understand why nobody has the bal*s to say it. The quickest and surest way to solve the problem is for those elected officals to live by the same rules as the those who elected them.

They should be forced to scrimp and save and do without and have to pay for their own insurance. As of now, aside from the fact that most of them are millionaires, they are provide the best that the tax payers can afford to provide them with for the rest of their lives.

You may laugh (and I can't blame you if you do, but I personally find this amusing), but check out the senators and congressmen who are the "poorest" (i.e basically paid what their salary is, and don't have or make much outside income).

In the house, one of the "poorest" guys is Bill Thomas (his only job before congress was community college teacher, he doesn't own or buy stocks or invest), in the senate, one of the poorest guys is Rick Sanctorum (his only income is his salary, which he "tithes").

If the house and senate acted more like the American people, you would have a lot of Tom Coburns in there right now (which would be a good thing).
