I don't see what will stop the oil companies from charging $3 or even $5 per gallon. Heck why stop there? Why not $10 per gallon?

Because they'd price themselves out of the market as people find new ways to use less of it. That's why.

When investors start getting hurt by it, then Congress will say, "gee I think we might have to look into the gas prices."

It seems you're saying the rise in gasoline prices is just a conspiracy by big oil.

I don't use words like "conpiracy" or "Big Oil"...I let the tinfoil hat wearing lefties do that. I would point out that the oil companies are having record breaking profits so you tell me, is just POSSIBLE that there MIGHT be a LITTLE gouging going on?
