What I'm saying is the long paeanic that thread became gives a lot of insight into how easily captured minds and hearts are by the faux MSM. Not that Jennings, himself, was faux -- but he is not what people knew. They knew him only as he was staged -- expensively presented -- each night. That presentation was faux, in that it obviously did exactly what it meant to do. Created a strong sense in many that Jennings was a beloved family member, a worthy and esteemed visitor in their homes.
An example of the Cult of the Marketed Personality -- which clearly includes Freepers.
"Free yourselves!", says I to all fellows, ladies and Freepers.
Exactly! Peter Jennings gets some of my respect but not my condolences. He's just a guy on TV presenting the news!! And with a slant I didn't particularly like. The freeper threads with prayers and such for Jennings just aren't my cup of tea. I often see newspaper obituaries of much more interesting and righteous people. I offer my prayers for them, not Peter Jennings.
