U.S. troops aren't the only ones sweating in Iraq's brutal summer. Al Qaida network leader Abu Mussib Al Zarqawi is getting nervous because of the increasing ease with which Iraqi and U.S. intelligence have been tracking and capturing his senior commanders.
A coalition scored a major success scored in Mosul on July 27 when U.S. troops captured Al Qaida cell leader Amar Abu Bara, alias Amar Hussein Hassan. Hassan was deemed a leading aide of Zarqawi and headed the Al Qaida network in Mosul.
Mosul is an important city for Zarqawi. It is a major destination of the flow of insurgents and weapons along the ratline from Syria to Iraq. In addition, Mosul enables Zarqawi operatives to commute to Iran for weapons, money and logistics.
Call it luck or good intelligence, but Abu Bara was captured within weeks of taking the job. Abu Bara replaced Abu Talha as Zarqawi's commander in Mosul. Abu Talha was captured by the United States in early June.
Have these successes ended the insurgency in northern Iraq? No. But the number of attacks and level of their lethality in the Mosul area have dropped since May. As important, with every commander captured, another cell is dismantled.

Then it cheers them up again.

"How I wish our media were pro-American and pro-Military" If this were the case the mission would nearly be over. What sustains the terrorists is uncertainty and lack of conviction.
I squarely put much of the blame to the ongoing battle in Iraq on the shoulders of our media.
Blood is on their hands.

If the tired-old-media ceased their infantile We're-gonna-hold-our-breath-until-the-entire-country-turns-blue-because-Gore-and-Kerry-didn't-get-to-be-President tantrum for ONE MONTH,
just one friggin' month, and pulled out all the stops in making this a pro-Bush, pro-Military, pro-America War on Terror, then Zarqawi, Zarwahiri, and bin-Laden would all be Saddam's cell mates by now.
Ironic indeed that the Jane-Fonda-democRATS keep harping on pulling out of Iraq. Well, if you idiots would stop interfering and START HELPING PRODUCTIVELY, then we'd be out of that hell-hole a lot sooner.
Damn, these liberals are dumb...

Has anyone ever heard how many attorneys in the Attorney General's office worked on the case of prosecuting "the 20th hijacker" Zacarias Moussaoui? We have a turkey (Wannabe politician) in our state who is running and bragging that he was a Senior Counsel and special federal prosecutor for John Ashcroft. They guy was fresh out of college and his mom was a congresswoman and got him a job in the AG's office. He's a prettyboy but not the sharpest knife in the drwer. Many of us believe it was him and probably 250 other attorneys on the Moussaoui case. Anybody got any insight on how many attorneys work on a case like this? Or any ideas of where I can find out?

Doesn't matter. All the terrorists have to do is detonate one good bomb a week and the MSM will give it wall-to-wall coverage to make it look like we are losing.

You have to understand the way the democrats think. If they supported the Bush policy or just agreed to shut up, our troops might have a good shot at finishing the job in Iraq and pacifying it and capturing Zarqaqi and his followers. The democrats understand that and they're not about to have any of it. To allow the job to be completed in a satisfactory manner would be a great loss to them and, even worse in their eyes, a victory for Bush and the republicans. The way they see it, they cannot afford to allow the republicans along with Bush to have any kind of victory. Even if it means more Marines and soldiers dying. To them, the democratic party comes first and any republican successes would jeopardize their chances at winning future elections..

If the Republicans have all the Corporations and control all the money, why don't a few of them get together and buy some of these rags out from under the Dems? Aren't they publicly traded companies? I can see the headline in big letters on the front page: UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT! If their circulation keeps going down they might even want to sell.
