Yes, the Brickell is on the opposite side of the road running through Palm Beach (same side as the Racquet Club, pond they drained) but farther south close to the HI. Makes me sort of wonder if the owner has a suite and lives and entertains there when he's in Aruba. My friend doesn't know. Stopped working at Excelsior before he bought the Brickell.

I'm sure you recall our discussion of the odd language "casino floor apartment" used in a court document you found pertaining to a case in aruba last week. we wondered if the casinos in aruba rent out dealer spaces to vendors so as to fall under the umbrella of the casino's licenses, etc.

Last night before the last thread was locked, a bit of discussion re jorans "fumbling" prompted me to think about joran/kalpoes, etc in this regard. As I recall, TJ Ward and/or Jug Twitty mentioned in the not-too-distant past that joran wag a bis loser as far as his "gambling goes.

The following is a compilation of 2 or 3 posts from last night, addressing money-laundering through casinos in aruba:

Q…..JVDS was gambling there anyway on someone's money.
….How does a 17 year old afford to do the gambling and partying he seemed to do?

A….That one's pretty simple, but too obvious....I didn't even think of it until I read your question, though:

Losers cash money taken in at casinos is all the same.....by that I mean those legitimate tourist gamblers as well as the cash of those who are there to deliberately lose it to the casino to be laundered within the tourists cash.

It is possible, even very likely that joran was allowed to deposit dirty money for laundering through "losses" in the casino(s).

remember, joran described the kalpoos as his "gambling buddies"......hangs out with them at the laundromat, I suppose!

His own little pile of cash doesn't need laundering.....in fact, his own little pile of cash is probably gotten as commission for laundering dirty BIG money for some bigtime drug/whatever dealer who gets it back clean thru big WINS at the casino from the same dealer.

joran and kalpoos also probably make pocket money selling small amounts of drugs to tourists for local consumption.

The scenario.....

I'm a drug dealer with a wad of dirty cash......you AB a dozen other street-urchins each go to the casino and lose 10k of my cash to a certain dealer in a certain "casino floor apartment". In return I will pay each of you 200 dollars for an hours work.

moral.....for 2400 bucks, I have cleaned 120k halfway......now, when I go to the "casino floor apartment" and WIN 120k dollars, I tip the dealer.

By the way (at the cash-out window) Mr Casino-owner.....please give me the 120k as a clean certified check, as I cannot travel with that much cash.

simple as that.

And aruba thrives on it.

Thanks for the info you've supplied. Reading your post, I noticed your friend quit working for Posner before he bought the Brickell in 2001. That means Joran would probably not have started his gambling in casinos by then. Joran would have only been about 13 or 14. So it makes sense that your friend would say Joran did not have a line of credit there, at that time. She probably wouldn't know the recent status of Joran's line of credit at the casino. For me, that leaves open the possibility of Joran having a line of credit at the HI casino.
