I think it will...do you have a good view from your ranch? The base will not be opened for the public.
I think they would prefer more to land while they still had fuel...

Like Black Tooth said in post #629, he bets the decision has been made. Looks like EAFB is it. A few months before STS-114 took wing, I heard that Discovery was going to land at EAFB as the prime landing site. The reason given was that if there ws a repeat of Columbia, the debris wouldn't land on population areas. That changed a month or so before liftoff when KSC became prime landing site. Either way, it's going to be a great show.

I wish there were times published...it they come in to Edwards at night, then you wont be able to see anything....but during daylight, that would be worth the trip.
What I heard is they will try again tomorrow EARLY AM for FLA - if that doesn't work - later in the day tomorrow @ Edwards.

The second two will come at Edwards Air Force Base at 8:12 a.m. and 9:47 a.m.
no, I didn't realize what was going on. The traffic was stopped going around the flightline, we were on our way to the BX...Wife was with me. I mentioned that the only reason to stop the traffic was because a heavy aircraft would produce enough force at takeoff to knock a car off the road. Sure enough, about 5 minutes, there she was! It was beautiful... The wings were bent so far up because of the weight it looked like they would break.
Miami International has a runway with 13,000 feet. OTOH, I can just imagine them landing the Shuttle in the middle of that place. Would cause conversation, at least.
Last time it landed at Edwards, she flew right over my house. The lack of cover is annoying when you're hot but great when you want 'big sky' to watch things. :) I should be able to see with binoculars. The scanner audio is relatively easy to find.
I believe these are pacific times....coming in at night.

I dont think I will be heading out there, despite the 8 600 million candlewatt spotlights on the runway!
it's too bad they mothballed SLC-6 after Challanger, iot would have been easer to launch to the ISS from Vandenberg I would think.
