The LAUSD doesn't even keep stats on the legal status of it's students. They have an idea how many are the children of illegals, but they won't say it in public.

The author really "glosses" the surface of the problem.
It's considerably worse than described by several orders of magnitude.
Aside from the predictable "next time you have a problem, don't call a cop" cliche', there ought to be more about what kind of solution and remedy there might be for this nightmare.
We've been though a collossal list of "what ifs" that can't work...we have hispanic activist rabble rousers raising cane calling everyone "gringo" and other crybabies blaming it all on the President.
Stop Already.
Anybody want stop wetting their diapers long enough to suggest a way out of this mess?

Illegal alien flood level rising. Here in eastern MA, they pull up in their air conditioned four door SUV's (no Kia's, thank you), roll down the windows and ask directions to the next large city or town. They don't even get out of the car! It's always a male behind the wheel, chest puffed out with pride. Women, if any, sit like stooges in the back seat.

Have you all noticed that this debate has really exploded in the last couple months. We are finally getting some truth in reporting. Look no further than DeLay's comments the other day. That is the strongest that I have heard any of our leaders, besides Tancredo, speak out on this matter. If DeLay gets his way, and we should all hope that he does, we will get a serious law enforcemnt bill this Fall, followed by a very limited and temporary geust-worker program later. Let's hope that DeLay's words reflect the opinion of the White House.

Bush is kowtowing to what he perceives is his obligation to the Hispanic voters for their increase in votes (although still a minority as Republican voters). He owes an OBLIGATION to America....to lock down the borders, especially during a WAR situation.

IMO if the Repubs do not tackle this problem before the '06 election they will be licking their wounds after.

I agree. DeLay has the right idea. Time to get behind him one more time.

America is so wealthy we have become simply irresistible easy pickings for these turd-world criminals who waltz right in, set up shop, and thumb their noses at our laws. But why not? We don't enforce even our most basic immigration laws so why should they have respect for
any of our laws?
... for that matter, why should we?

A substantial bloc, perhaps even a majority, of Hispanic voters are just as sick of illegals as anyone else. They are, after all, the ones who compete the most directly with the legal immigrants for jobs and the illegals drive down their wages. They also face more discrimination as a result of resentment of illegals and the illegals tend to flock to the neighborhoods of legal Hispanic immigrants, bringing their crime and drugs and gang activities.
I don't think most legal immigrants want more illegals in here. At least, not the flood of trash we've had in recent years.
Bush is focused instead on economic growth and the whole CAFTA illusion.
The immigrants in my little town won't let the illegals come here. They like it nice and quiet, safe for their kids, no illegals competing for their jobs. Nice bunch.

In my opinion, one of the strongest messages we can send this year is to elect Jim Gilchrist, one of the founders of the Minutemen, to Congress in the special election to fill Chris Cox's vacant seat.

Why run the risk of arrest when you can waltz away with $100,000 in proceeds on a sale, all in someone else's name? "$1500 for a leather bustier? I didn't care. It lifts and separates! I mean...it's not as if I'm paying for it. Heeee heee heee!"

A substantial bloc, perhaps even a majority, of Hispanic voters are just as sick of illegals as anyone else. I agree.
One example: the head of the Chicago Minutemen, (who is also a FReeper, by the way), is of Mexican descent.
And all of the meetings and rallies I've been to, the crowds are of all ethnic backgrounds. The common denominator? They're all patriots, and concerned about the physical and economic security of our country.
It's the Leftists trying to swarm the Minutemen down on the border who are the stone-cold racists. Examples of their blatant racism abound.
