Singer Barbra Streisand reportedly said at President Clinton's final formal White House dinner in December 2000, "I don't think you'll see me around here for at least four years." Her press agents later added that the "here" in her statement referred to the White House, not the USA.

According to a recent addition of Roll Call, Barbra Streisand, the queen of Hollywood liberals and long time major donor to the Democrats and other left wing causes, thinks she has the answer to the Democrats’ leadership troubles . . . She will take charge!
Roll Call, a Capitol Hill newspaper that reports on inside the Beltway political gossip, reported that Streisand sent a three-page memo to lesser Democrat leaders complaining about their caving into Bush and telling them what to do. Babs complained that George W. Bush "stole" the presidency by committing "voter fraud" aimed at blacks and Jews. Streisand complained about the so-called Bush charm offensive which has taken Washington by storm. During the campaign, Bush vowed to bring bipartisanship and civility back to Washington. "Look at his ratings -- how could such a destructive man be so popular?" she fumed. Babs titled her memo "Nice Guys Finish Last." Inside the memo, she unloaded on lesser Democrats. "Bipartisanship only works if you can trust the other side," she railed. Then, she chastised elected Democrats for being "afraid" of Bush and accused them of caring too much about their 2002 reelection prospects.
She urged her fellow Democrats to stop distancing themselves from Bill Clinton and to start defending his pardons. "Clinton’s pardons have no impact on the health and welfare of the American people." During Clinton’s eight years in the White House, Streisand was a frequent guest, until Hillary allegedly banished her from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
According to the article, the memo was simply signed "Barbra." We’re sure she is on a first name basis with Bill, but next time she issues orders to the rest of the Democrats, she may want to include her last name to avoid any confusion among party leaders with whom she has a less personal relationship.
I liked the Halloween Streisand "Spooky vision" episode where her heads kept evolving from Yentl, A Star is Born, yada yada.

These people who make their living pretending to be someone else have been on the forefront of vocal opposition to the war and to the President. They are the geniuses who think they know how to run this nation and deal with others.
Compare their credentials with President George W. Bush and his advisors. The President holds a Bachelors degree from Yale University and a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School. He served as Governor of Texas for two terms. His Vice President, Dick Cheney, earned a Bachelor's degree in 1965 and a Masters in 1966, both in the field of political science. He served in the House of Representatives, as chief of staff under President Ford, and as Secretary of Defense under Bush41. Both have experience in the private sector as well.
Secretary of Defense, Don Rumsfield is a graduate of Princeton University, served as an aviator in the US Navy, and has a long record of holding public office with distinction. Tom Ridge, the new Secretary of Homeland Security, earned a scholarship to Harvard where he graduated with honors in 1967. He served in Vietnam with the US Army, earning a Bronze Star for valor. After the war he earned a law degree and later was first elected to Congress in 1982, winning six elections after that. He would become Governor of Pennsylvania.
Condoleezza Rice, the President's National Security advisor, has an academic record that is so spectacular as to be intimidating. She earned her Bachelor's degree in political science, Cum Laude, from the University of Denver in 1974, followed by a Master's from the University of Notre Dame in 1975, and a Ph.D. from the Graduate School of International Studies at the University of Denver. While teaching at Stanford University, she was tapped to become its Chancellor. If I gave you the rest of her accomplishments, this commentary would become a book.
Now, given this comparison, who would you prefer, a bunch of high school and college dropouts or people who have devoted their lives to public service?

Yes, and while simultaneously singing 'people who need people' ... and when the fire has reduced her to a pile of ashes, the pile of ashes continues to sing and the keyboard continues to type mindless dribble. It's like I've always feared ... she'll NEVER go away.
