Datura,
You are completely wrong about Huckabee's position on illegal immigration. He opposes illegal immigration and advocates their deportation. Period. He is hated by some for his belief that children of illegal immigrants, most of whom are American citizens and all of whom have committed no crime themselves, be eligible for in-state tuition and financial aid to attend college upon graduation from Arkansas high schools. The Arkansas constitution-- not Huckabee-- mandates that all children, regardless of legal status, be education K-12. So why should an academically qualified, 18-year old adult, American citizen be denied the opportunity for a college education just because his or her parents committed a crime?

If a student is a citizen they would get in-state tuition The fight is about the student who is here illegally. Why are you trying to obfuscate the issue?

If the child of an illegal alien is an American citizen, then it's a non-issue when it comes to in-state tuition and financial aid to attend college upon graduation from an Arkansas high school. These American citizen children of illegal aliens have exactly the same rights as any other child who is an American citizen and who has graduated from an Arkansas high school.

they don't have the balls to say it, but its because that 18 yr old kid isn't a WASP, is probably a Catholic, and has an S or a Z at the end of their name....

Illegal immigration is wrong and we need to fix it, and the raid Huck gets nailed over he was wrong on. HOWEVER, The children of illegal immigrants HAVE NO CONTROL over what their parents did, and if they were born in the US, no matter what, they are US citizens and are entitled to the rights thereof. End of story.
