An explanation of why we spell America as "Amerikka"
1. In Bosnian, the letter c is pronounced 'ts' - and so "America" would be pronounced "Ameritsa". That sounds
wrong, so the c has to be changed to a k.
2. In Somali, the letter c is used to represent the 'ayn sound of Arabic - and so "America" would be
pronounced "Ameri'a". Again, that sounds wrong, so the c has to be changed to a k.
Can anyone think of any other possible justifications? ;)
I can't think of a reason for the double k though, wouldn't one k be enough...? Or how about using a q instead
of a k...?

Why three K's sometimes?
Thanks

Well, one possible explanation is that some people talk with their mouths full and may occasionally choke on
their food - hence the "kkk" as they try to clear their windpipe... :D

So I guess when people are on the internet, they'd have food stuck on/in their keyboard. Hey, I eat when I'm
on the PC sometimes. It happens.
Seriously, though, why do you think someone spells it with three K's?

ASA,
I don't know about you lot, but the 'K key on my kkkeyboard seems to be faulty most of the time ..
Why do I replace the C with a K? Simple, like Baba said, I don't want to confuse anyone who may think
America is pronounced Amerisa. The addition of a 'Kkk' gives verbal highlights when speaking about the US.

I just thought of another possible explanation:
KKK = Ku Klux Klan
Raven

Actually, I knew that.
How do you feel about that form of name-calling? I thought flame-baiting wasn't allowed. Or is it allowable if
pointed in the right direction?
baba

Well, the official Ummah.com explanations for the kkk is the "keyboard stuck" and the "verbal highlight" one...
So it's not "name-calling" :D
But seriously, do you find the extra k insulting? Shall I tell people to stick to just one k or two? :D
Raven

LOL
And what's the real explanation?
To be honest, nearly all of Americans find the KKK insulting. I'd love to see them wiped off the face of the
Earth, but the Constitution gives them the right to think what they do. It also gives people the right to tell
other people how they hate US policies & such.
[Added]
It's your board, your rules. I'm just saying that in the eyes of this and other beholders, it's nothing more than
name-calling / flame-baiting.
What you choose to do about it (if anything) is your decision.

OK, brothers & sisters! Amerikka must not be spelt with a 'kkk' otherwise you'll be banned! So it's either
Amerika or Amerikka, or Amerikkkka, but not Amerikkka :D

I'm not sure if you're serious or not, but thanks for listening.
I was trying to think of an analogy in the Arab world. I believe one good analogy would be "****." Isn't it a
lot like the term "******?"
It's nothing more than a way to insult an entire group of people.

Very clever, Raven.. Think you could get a racist swear word in without anyone noticing, eh?
The term **** is offensive because it's directed at a defined group of people. Also, check up on your
geography because Pakistan isn't in the Arab world...
Amerik3a isn't racist, since the US is a diversity of races and religious beliefs. Besides, the US is a COUNTRY,
not a people!
Baba, can something be done about Raven? I think it's obvious that he tried to sneak in some racist insults.
And before you try and be a smart-alec, I know **** means 'Pure' but the usage of the word matters more
than it's definition sometimes. But then again, your Dork Bush used the same word so I guess you lot are just
racist by nature.
