Man Suspected of Bin Laden Link Accused of Fraud

Washington (AP) - A Herndon man who allegedly delivered a satellite-phone battery to Afghanistan for Osama bin Laden (news - bio) is now facing charges of immigration and mortgage-loan fraud.

The Washington Post reports Homeland Security officials say 43-year-old Tarik Hamdi - a native of Iraq - has not been arrested and is believed to be out of the country. Hamdi has not been charged for delivering the battery to bin Laden but the act is what prompted authorities to check him out.

Hamdi reportedly delivered the battery in May of 1998 while helping to set up an interview for ABC News. Bin Laden is accused of using the phone in connection with the deadly bombings of the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania - the same year. ABC News has not commented on its relationship with Hamdi.

A large backpack filled with gasoline was left on a Columbus bus. I have the link below from news channel 4, but no link yet about it being gasoline (I heard that on the radio). Also, just a few blocks away, a judge received some type of threatening letter from a person on a "criminal" list. Developing...will update as I hear more.

On the subject of martial law and the powers of FEMA.

Did you ever read about the CFR and the North American Community?

That little business has severely undermined my faith in ALL of our government.

The next terrorist attack on the CONUS will allow them to shove that plan through, and martial law would be required to save them from those of us who were aware.

Forgive my cynicism, but that's what worries me the most.

I do not grieve for Peter Jennings, who was a member of the Canadian Council.

A bit more news...

Letter Prompts Evacuation
http://wbns10tv.com/Global/story.asp?S=3699770&nav=LUERd7Fl

The Franklin County Courthouse evacuated the 10th floor Tuesday morning after a letter surfaces with a return address of a person of the FBI watch list.

The letter, sent to Amy Salerno, was opened, and it was discovered to be a handwritten letter. It was then delivered to Salerno.

Investigators are treating the situation very seriously.

About the backpack, the man was apprehended on another bus and is being questioned by police. Apparently the backpack was glued shut (?) and the police are testing the contents.

Regarding the letter sent.

I hope they give us a bit more news regarding her job and who she has come in contact with that would be on the FBI watch list.

Backpack possible bomb, glued shut? Now they will have to put super glue under lock and key.

Do you know if this is this related to the story about the plot to bomb an Ohio mall?

"The price [crude oil] is definitely going to $65 a barrel," said Kevin Norrish, an analyst at Barclays Capital.

sheesh, where's all this oil we're supposedly stealing from the middle East?

>> U.S. says mall bombing plot foiled <<

WOW!!! Thanks for finding this Cindy. You're awesome!

Folks, this proves what we've all known for sometime. Kudos to all on these TM threads. We've all known (thanks to TM) that malls would be targeted.

Thank God this plot was foiled. Who knows how many lives have been saved. Unfortunately, we've got a long, long way to go.

It concerns me as well. His wish to be martyred in the belly of the beast...his prolonged absence...

I've just been kinda jumpy these days. It doesn't help that Fox News puts out an alert every 2 minutes because hillary! farted or whatever. They're going to end up being the little boy that cried wolf.
