Who has been conducting joint military exercises, recently? Russia
and CHINA? Think the roooskies have let the chinese in on all our
strengths whereby they also know our weaknesses?<<<<

Yes, they have shared our secrets, but most of them clinton sold to them.

clinton is a true communist, has been since his school days.

When one allows for the communist party members in congress, clinton and carter... then the miracle is that we are still allowed to talk about them at Free Republic.

People need to pay more attention to the border problems, it is not the working Mexican that is the problem, it is the communist cells in mexico, the muslim cells and all the other countries that are sending troops in to the U.S..

No one pays a bit of attention to all the Chinese that are caught crossing the borders.

Davey, when I first heard that the ships had left port, it did bother me, but now it seems clear that it was the only thing that they could do.

I would bet that it was al Qaida and not the country of Jordan that fired on us.

If we had fought back, we would have been killing friends in Jordan and Israel.

a tough decision, but the right one.

Still to me it is a full declaration of war, firing on Navy Ships is different that sniping at a few soldiers on duty.

The war on terror has taken on a larger meaning that finding the insurgents.

But I do not have the faintest idea of how to fight it.

al Qaida is being smart, strike, and run, strike from places that we are not at war with.

The entire mission of that strike on the ships may have been to entice us to fire back on our friends.

they will get dumb and one of these days, the missile will come from Iran and we will fire back.

Defense to cite depression in killing of cop (Thrice Deported Oceanside Police Killer)
San Diego Union ^ | August 20, 2005 | Jose Jimenez

Posted on 08/20/2005 2:00:52 PM PDT by radar101

Lawyers representing a man accused of murdering an Oceanside police officer plan to argue that depression and prescription and illegal drugs put him in a mental state that led him to unintentionally kill. The defense strategy for Adrian Camacho, 30, was discussed yesterday during a pretrial hearing in a case in which the District Attorney's Office is seeking the death penalty.

The Oceanside man is accused of fatally shooting rookie officer Tony Zeppetella during a traffic stop in a credit union parking lot on Avenida de la Plata on June 13, 2003

Last month, defense lawyers also sought to bar prosecutors from seeking the death penalty by arguing that Camacho's right to meet with a member of the Mexican Consulate was violated by authorities.

it saves the state money, and leaves more money for the leaders.

Laurie Roth had Dr. Madelyn Cosman on her show last night. She referenced the belief by a Dr. Daniel Callahan that "sustained life" should not be over the age of 75. He advocates no great surgical procedures be wasted on those whose time has come anyway. It would save the medical profession and insurance companies huge amounts of money to be better spent on the remaining population. She said impaired children at Groningen University Hospital in the Netherlands are euthanized already up to the age of 12.

"SEVERAL HELD IN JORDAN ATTACKS PROBE"

AQABA, Jordan  —

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Two other rockets were fired toward Israel (search) from the warehouse located in the hills on Aqaba's northern edge about five miles from the port. One fell short and hit the wall of a Jordanian military hospital and the other landed inside Israel close to Eilat airport, lightly wounding a taxi driver.

The rocket firings deepened concerns about new Islamic militant activity in a sleepy corner of the Middle East usually known for beach vacations and Israel-Arab peacemaking. The tourist resort of Aqaba, on Jordan's tiny strip of coastline, is wedged next to Israel at the northern end of the Red Sea.

"We have found the rocket launcher in the warehouse from where they fired," Interior Minister Awni Yirfas told The Associated Press in what marked one of the first key breakthroughs in the investigation."

This is so true, one thing add they KNEW how to TREAT a lady. swoooon!

Yep. I still LOVE when men race to a door to open it for me. I taught my sons to do the same. They were always getting comliments for their good manners. Two of the things I'd like to see taught in public schools are 1) good manners, and 2) how to manage their money (rudimentary skills). Too many graduate from high school with no knowledge of either.

US Senator Asks Rumsfeld to Stop Criticism of Chavez
VOICE OF AMERICA/AP ^ | 20 August 2005 | --
Posted on 08/20/2005 2:28:10 PM PDT by johnny7

Hugo ChavezA prominent U.S. Republican senator has asked the defense secretary to tone down his criticism of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, suggesting it could hurt drug fighting efforts in the region. The request was made in a letter Friday from Senator Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania to Secretary Rumsfeld, and follows the senator's meeting Wednesday with Mr. Chavez in Caracas.

The following day, Mr. Rumsfeld said during a South American visit there was evidence that Venezuela and Cuba were involved in Bolivia "in unhelpful ways." Political unrest in Bolivia has led to the resignation of two presidents there in the last two years. Senator Specter says his meeting with Mr. Chavez led to diplomatic talks next week to resolve differences between narcotics officials, and a moratorium on adverse comments might be helpful.

"Iran, Venezuela discuss oil embargo"
Toward Freedom, VT ^ | August 17, 2005
Posted on 08/17/2005 11:17:30 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "TEHRAN — "Oil is the lifeline of the West, and most of the West's military industries are dependent on it,” the Tehran Times suggested in an editorial last week. Irritated by a recent resolution by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that called for a halt to Iran’s uranium conversion program, the newspaper suggested that oil-rich states form a united front and use oil as a tool to confront "western neocolonialist countries."

In Venezuela, Pres. Hugo Chavez has taken the idea a step further, threatening to halt oil exports if alleged attacks on his country continue, according to Agence France Press. Appearing last week as a witness at a symbolic “anti-imperialist court” in Caracas, Chavez said, “Washington’s molestation may cause more serious problems; our two oil tankers going to the U.S. everyday may go to another country.” He added that the “Northern America market is not compulsory for us.” Venezuela exports 1.5 million barrels of oil to the United States daily.

According to the Islamic Republic News Agency, the Iranian newspaper’s editorial described oil as “the most potent economic weapon for settling scores,” and suggested an embargo on oil sales to the United States and European countries that are pressuring Iran to end its nuclear program. It also criticized what it sees as a double standard, noting that Israel, Pakistan and India have nuclear weapons, and that most of them have conducted tests."

I think it was Al Queda also, couldn't we use just a little bitty bomb on the ones that fired at us?

I love it too. I taught my son's the same and enjoy the surprise they receive from most people.

Just the other day I was at a coke machine digging change out of my purse and this older gentleman stooped and asked if I needed change. I said no I just have to dig it out and he said never mind that let me buy you a drink and did.

As he walked off I thanked him and said chivalry isn't dead yet. LOL

This is long and a must read....remember Padilla? He was on TV last week looking for information on his brother in Africa that stole the plan.

snip

Islamofascist ideology.

Three such converts have gained notoriety since their release from prison:

· Richard Reid, the convicted “Shoe Bomber,” was converted to Islam in a British prison by a radical imam, Abdul Ghani Qureshi, at the suggestion of his father, a Jamaican-born career criminal and convert.

· Jose Padilla (a.k.a. Abdullah al-Muhajir), the alleged “Dirty Bomber,” was exposed to Islam during stints in American prisons.

· Aqil Collins converted to Islam while serving time in California’s boot-camp system. He went to an Afghan training camp with one of the men accused of killing Wall Street Journal journalist Daniel Pearl.

We have been on notice for some time. As Edward Caden, a retired prison administrator in California, put it to ABC News: “Prisons are a prime, prime target for terrorist recruiting. It is a ripe population.” Unfortunately, for too long prison wardens and other law enforcement officials have turned a blind eye to the Islamofascist recruiters – whether in the name of political correctness, religious tolerance or simply a pragmatic – if reckless – belief that prisoners subjected to Wahhabi discipline will be better behaved, at least while incarcerated. The alleged plot uncovered in New Folsom State is unlikely to be the last of the dangers to arise from allowing this Islamist cancer to spread unchecked.
