My Dad and my brother spent a great deal of their lives in planes (Air Crew and airline Captain), so we have a family affinity for airline movies that are based on some reality.
The High and the Mighty was written by a pilot, as was Fate is the Hunter (Glenn Ford starring).
Well, I'll probably know next week how it squares with my memory of it.
Tall in the Saddle was still good, despite being B&W and low budget special effects.
There is a web site by a Brit in honor of a relative
who was a flying Fortress Pilot B-17 who went down
with his plane to save a British Town.
They still each yr have a memorial service for him and
his crew in Eng. He is burried at Arlington.
Fate is the Hunter is a movie I haven't seen in ages...another good movie.....H&M is dated and the dialogue a little corny, but it's a Wayne film and a must see and own...
btw...my dad was an USAF pilot....was your Dad Air Force?
