A richly informative article detailing the internal contradictions and vicious presuppositions of Marxist/socialist theory and practice.

Read it twice.

I can't believe I was awed by this idiology when I was younger in University or maybe it was that beautiful blonde two seats on the right from the front row that got me to class!!!

What stayed with me was how marxism and it's adherents would manipulate history, economics and all other disciplines in order to advance their idiology. It is amazing how billions were and are still being duped!

Very intriguing. Nicely details the left's sheer hypocrisy and malignancy.

It is precisely the mechanics of this moral elitism that produces a superstructure of political elitism, the coercive rule of self-appointed experts, which is what every socialist government to date has been. What the Left has always condemned "capitalism" for most profoundly is its legal egalitarianism, its "formal equality" -- that is, its granting of political equality to moral unequals. In such a society, a Catharine MacKinnon has no more power than anyone else to censor others. Would-be Lenins and Maos and Castros are reduced to the Man on the Street. Each citizen controls his own property, and no cete of socialists is authorized to redistribute that wealth according to any scheme.

And this ladies & gents summerizes the fundamental problem with the democratic party. Elitists to the core addicted to power and denyers of true egalitarianism (he equality of opportunity for all through the ownership of property).

Liberalism (socialism) is a mental DISEASE! It is surely a cancer upon anyone's society.

One thing Barry touches on but did not slice as deeply into as his beautiful dissection of feminazism, is that the proponents of political correctness (Prof. Fish[face] and his ilk, or make that 'ick' in the spirit of the thread) have found that their profound enchantment with advanced Marxist literary deconstructionism has been turned around on them in the past five years, neatly eviscerating the New Left and chasing them from power.

I saw the contradictions way back when, EVEN as a dumber-than-dumb blonde 20-year-old.

I am now appalled at three things:
1. Marx's total lack of knowledge about human nature, behavior and history;
2. his unmitigated arrogance; and,
3. people's acceptance of his basically and hopelessly flawed constructions.

My theory is that Marxism, socialism, and pseudo-"liberalism" are simply expressions of bullying. Unfounded claims of virtue, which any adult should ridicule.

It is pervasive exactly where you would expect it - in the "objective" journalists who think that nothing matters but PR, with the result that journalists are

Leftism is nothing but selfish exploitation of propagada power.

Good article from Horowitz's website..
Democracy is the enemy not socialism.. Socialism is merely a symptom..

=quotes====================================================
Democracy is the road to socialism. Karl Marx

Democracy is indispensable to socialism. The goal of socialism is communism. V.I. Lenin

The meaning of peace is the absence of opposition to socialism.- Karl Marx

Read it twice.

First reading took much of morning, but was worth it.

Print it out. Re-read it and highlight it.

Pass it on to your college-age or older children.

Thanks for the post.

The Republic of Marx (to paraphrase Bakunin)

will not content itself with administering and governing the masses economically. It will also administer the masses culturally, concentrating in the hands of the State the formation of character, the development and spread of ideas, the standardization of language, the control of literature and the arts, the content of education, and finally the codification of the duties of each citizen to the only moral authority -- the State. All that will demand an immense virtue and many heads overflowing with "good intentions" in this government. It will be the reign of ideological virtue, the most aristocratic, despotic, arrogant, and elitist of all regimes. There will be a new class, a new hierarchy of real and counterfeit humanists and scholars, and the world will be divided into a minority ruling in the name of the Good, and an immense evil majority. And then, woe unto the mass of evil ones!

The Communist state was never anything so much as an Inquisition launched against, not a handful of heretics, but the whole populace, for whom freedom would be only the freedom to do evil.

Canada is already under the rule of a Party which for 40 years has sought to create just such an essentially totalitarian regime.

It is uncertain whether Canada can slide much further down this greasy track without political convulsion. I am not particularly optimistic.

Btw, great post - I've found many of your selections interesting. If you have a ping list, put me on it. ;^)

One of the most damaging idiocies in Marxist publications is the lead paragraph of the infamous "Communist Manifesto" in which the "spectre haunting Europe" is not the accumulating bourgeioise, not the strike breaker thugs, not the monopolist oligarchy, not the militarists. No, the spectre haunting Europe in 1848 was the "spectre of OVERPRODUCTION"!

In a world where societies were essentially paradigm-shaped by chronic spectre of scarcity or wage work, consumer durables, necessities such as food, clothing and urban housing, try to imagine the fruits of an intellect capable of that shrieking violation of logic.

Walter
