So we are supposed to let a hypothetical future change in the law prevent us from passing the most important pro-gun legislation in decades? May I remind you that liberal anti-gunners have been abusing the power of state and municipal governments for years in an attempt to sue gun makers out of business. They have fought this legislation tooth and nail for a decade. And now you want to let your cynicism of government (justified to be sure) snatch defeat from the jaws of victory?

How much will your 2nd Amendment rights be worth if gun makers are forced out of business because of the legal costs of frivolous lawsuits?

where did I suggest that we should not support the anti-lawsuit bill?

nowhere.

I simply pointed out the way a similarly phrased law on safety measures went from optional for the end-user to mandatory.

As a reminder: Never believe the government when they say a law's reach shall not be extended.
