"Immigration will be a dead issue long before the next elections."

That is funny.

I know you don't intend it to be, but it most certainly is...

Tent cities growing their food and raising their chickens. No luxuries like running water or electricity need except for security or emergency.

Most of these illegals never had running water or flush toilets in Mexico so living in a tent and getting water from a truck and using sanicans will be step up for most of them

Of course the sanicans will be trashed in a day or two and the tents will need replacing every month or so. Put them to work making adobe bricks to build themselves a semi-permanent abode.

Sheriff Arpaio (sp) can show them how it's done. Bologna sandwichs, no smokes or coffee, pink underwear, etc.

What's there left to argue about? Billions will have been allocated to increase border security so Tancredo can't say we are turning our back or ignoring border security. (Remember his vote will be on record).

A guest worker program will be in the early stages of implementation so there won't be any arguments over whether Tancredo's or Cornyn's or McCain's guest worker plan should be enacted.

It will be as much of a dead issue as CAFTA is today. That's just fundamental politics. Timing is everything and DeLay/Rove have snookered Tancredo.
