While I love DeLay and Tancredo, they're looking at the wrong solution.  You can round up and deport illegals forever, they'll just come streaming back across the border.

FIRST - start raiding employers.  For every illegal employed, it's a $20,000 fine.  For a second offense, it's a year in prison for the employer.  That'll dry up the jobs almost over night.

SECOND - Anytime an illegal interacts with police, fire department, hospital, schools, they are to be reported to ICE for immediate deportation or all federal funds will be witheld for that department/hospital.

Now if you're an illegal and you can't get work and you know that at any moment you, your "wife", your kid, your mother etc. could be swept up off the street and sent back to Juarez with no warning, you'll deport yourself and the idea of coming back isn't going to sound too appealing.

First or second, doesn't matter. Just do it.

Seems Delay is getting the message that most others have all but ignored.

REAL GUEST ACT (H.R. 3333)

some healthy fines for those not hiring by the guidelines:

Doubles the civil penalties to which employers are subject for failure to meet the requirements above or for misrepresentation of a material fact in a labor condition application; the range of fines increases from $1,000-$35,000 per violation to $2,000-$70,000 per violation.

agencies allowed to interact:
State and local law enforcement agencies are assisting in the enforcement of immigration laws by detaining illegal aliens with whom they come into contact and ICE employees respond to every request for assistance from State and local law enforcement agencies;

I would add to your list. Build a barrier so they can't come back so easily and stop all the free stuff to Illegals.

Not if we enact Bob Grant's plan, which he has been urging for years...LANDMINES on the border.

When worshiped with the same fervor as dogma, this becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I find those theoretical contributions not very helpful; indeed unacceptable.

If we are forced to spend unnecessarily, I want at least to decide what to spend on, not to allow the criminal to add insult to injury.
I say spend it on the endless bus ride. One way. Towards the border. As many times as necessary.

Let the Mexican government pay for the hospitality facilities.
On their side of the border.

It may not be cheaper, but it can't last forever. And I have some satisfaction in at least feeling I have some say in the process.
