House Majority Leader Tom DeLay urged Texas police Thursday night to begin rounding up illegal immigrants, and said he backed legislation that would cut off federal funds to cities that don't enforce U.S. immigration laws.

Finally !!!

Regardless of all the MSM and Dem BS, illegals are a drain on USA citizens tax paying resources.

You my Friend, lack understanding of the definition of the term "oxymoron".

No offense pal but I too had long ago concluded that and more about you. Try and have a nice life.

People like you are the reason Howard Dean is in Texas shouting that the Democrats are going to elect a Mexican governor next time around.

You and Michael Jackson live in never-never land.

When you're on the same page with President Bush, Karl Rove and the RNC, you're not in the Republican minority.

Tom DeLay introduced himself to me when he first ran for Congress. I was caucus chair of an adjoining CD and represented part of his county on the State Committee.

He has always been 100% on the side of Karl Rove and the Bushes and Texas economic interests.

Tancredo is out as far as being able to influence other Congressmen. His presidential campaign being run by Bay and his bomb Mecca gaff has left a vacuum into which DeLay has quickly stepped.

When the bill finally comes out of committee containing the two objectives of President Bush, Tom DeLay will be in a position to deliver the votes just as he always has, while Tancredo will be out meeting with some Buchanan malcontents telling them he's too short, fat and stupid to get elected president.

A couple of points.

1. Being with Bush and Rove doesn't make you in the majority of average republicans voters. It does put you in with the party leadership and establishment, and they do have the power. So I guess you could be right there.

2. EVERY article, column and editorial I've ever read say that any guest worker plan, even Tancredo's, cannot pass the house of representatives. Maybe the senate, but not the house.

3. You are way to willing to be certain things to fit your own wishful thinking. You have no idea why DeLay said what he said, regardless or whether or not you ever spoke with him. Also, you have no idea what's going to happen before 2008. Just because you say it doesn't make it so.

That first "be" in my third point should be "bend."

It's just my opinion. If you want to check it out do a search and read everything that President Bush has actually said. He doesn't lie but he picks his words very carefully to avoid saying anything that he doesn't really mean.

Again, just my observations, but I get the impression that his two most important objectives are to supply sufficient guest laborers to meet the requirements of our economy and to beef up border security against terrorists (not gardeners and maids).

The bills introduced so far have a lot of bells and whistles that President Bush probably doesn't care about one way or the other.

It looks like the biggest dispute is over whether guest workers have to file their applications (or be postmarked) in their nation of origin. A really silly requirement that serves no purpose other than assuage the tiny little feelings of the Antis. The cost to the economy would not be that great for Mexicans who can take a quick trip across the border, but some that escaped China or other distant nations may not be able to meet the requirement.

I'm still awaiting your opinion on whether President Bush lied about supporting the Assault Weapons Ban or if he actually did support it.

"I'm still awaiting your opinion on whether President Bush lied about supporting the Assault Weapons Ban "

I haven't formed an opinion because I haven't paid attention to the issue, but I will if you simply supply me a direct quote by President Bush, not a third person paraphrase (with link), and then the documentation, preferably a direct quote or official record of him doing the opposite of what he said he would do.

That's how perjury is proven in court, not by anonymous editorials from Stormfront.
