They have no choice. They would love to have Christian Mexican guest workers rather than Muslim guest workers. Even when they make lemonade when life gives them lemons, they at least, address the problem instead of allowing total anarchy as the U.S. currently allows.
Tell me, how exactly do you plan to get rid of guest workers who decide they want to be something more than guests? If we do not have the will for deportations now, what will magically happen then?
I addressed that in Post 193 and in Post 269
. Also, what will you do about the guest workers who have anchor babies? Do you think we have the will to deny citizenship to the children of guest workers?
I addressed that in Post 313
Finally, "jobs Americans won't do" is a canard. What we have is a situation where illegals have artificially decreased the wages and benefits to a point that Americans cannot afford to do those jobs.
Do you know any Americans who want to do agricultural stoop labor? Do you know any Americans who want to pay $3 for a tomato?
Yes, Americans could be paid enough to do these jobs and then the cost of living for other Americans would rise to the point that they would have a hard time putting food on the table.
It's a little ways off the subject, but for what it is worth, "you-pick-it" (a.k.a "u-pick-it") operations seem to be popular enough from what I have seen.
When they open some of the ones that I have been to, you had better be there early or it's going to be slim pickings.
To wander even more distantly from the topic at hand, even in Japan you can find such operations, especially the ichigo (strawberry) ones, though my experience has been that those are more oriented toward immediate consumption of the strawberries than carry-away.
" Do you know any Americans who want to do agricultural stoop labor? Do you know any Americans who want to pay $3 for a tomato?"
Your freaking $3 tomato theory has already been THOUROUGHLY debunked amigo. Do a search here on FR as to what the COST to TAXPAYERS illegals represent.
