In Illinois it isn't just the Dems and this takes us full circle to the discussion of the support or neglect of the base.
The national GOP Committeeman from Illinois was just promoted to treasurer of that RNC. He is totally corrupt and on the take for money from the Dems, over $800,000 for him to take a dive in one act of corruption. In the 2004 primary 5 of the 7 candidates for US Senate campaigned against him and obtained about 90% of the vote. In the coming primary, at least 5 of the 7 possible candidates for governor oppose this traitor GOP national Committeeman. Yet the RNC gives him a promotion. The odds are 2:1 he will be indicted before Corrupt GOP Gov George Ryan's trial ends.
Note that this abandoning the base abandons 90% of GOP voters, regardless of demographic group.... other than the small power hungry clique on the take. In Illinois, each time an individual or group is dissed, we take it personally.... The GOP clique at the top dissed me because I'm (Black, conservative, inner city, pick any label). In reality, we're dissed because we're not in the little power hungry clique in Illinois that wants to keep all the benefits of corruption for themselves.
