....and I'm sure we can count on the MSM reporters to vigorously pursue all such leads now, as they have for the past two years that they've been publishing the DU talking points.... as the Captain's Quarters blog points out, the MSM hyped the story hysterically in summer '03 when swallowing Joe Wilson's lies whole, but then immediately dropped the story fast when the Senate Intelligence Committee report came out (summer '04) and Joe Wilson was no longer useful to the Kerry campaign.....now they have busily revived the "Rove/Libby" theme without ever bothering to do the most elementary research on who the players are, what's really gone on here, and how nearly all reporters and columnists are merely regurgitating the DNC talking points....

"It doesn't take a poli-sci graduate to understand the difference in coverage that the Exempt Media gives for scandals involving partisan political players. Take Joseph Wilson, for example. While he busily leaked or outright broadcast falsehoods about his trip to Niger, he garnered huge media coverage, as his opposition to the Iraq war matched their own biases. As soon as the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence showed him to have lied on several occasions about that report and the nature and origin of his assignment, the media ran and hid from the entire mess. Almost exactly a year ago, Howard Kurtz pointed out the dramatic difference:
