Ex-N.J. Governor Said to Have Book Deal
ASSOCIATED PRESS
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - A tell-all book by the nation's first openly gay governor is in the works, a New York publisher said Thursday.
The as-yet-untitled memoir by former New Jersey Gov. James E. McGreevey will be published by ReganBooks, an imprint of publishing house HarperCollins.
McGreevey announced his homosexuality and his resignation in the same stunning speech last Aug. 12, saying that he had been involved in an adulterous affair with a man.
ReganBooks president Judith Regan said in a news release that the book would "chronicle the span of McGreevey's political career."
McGreevey, a Democrat, was governor from January 2002 to November 2004.
The statement gave no indication when the book would be published or how much McGreevey is being paid to write it.
"Jim McGreevey has a rare opportunity, and the courage, to tell the whole truth about his life," Regan wrote. "In this deeply honest and revealing book, he will describe how he wrestled with his sexuality and his faith - from the expectations he faced as a young man to the divided persona he created in order to meet them."
An after-hours message left for Washington, D.C., attorney Robert B. Barnett, who represented McGreevey in the book deal, was not immediately returned.
McGreevey has an unpublished number and could not be reached for comment.

The corruption part is what really gets me with this clown. It's not as if the Republicans in NJ are saints but if you're a Dem you get a free pass.

What political career? Between lying to his wife, his kids, sleeping with his gay lover, and covering it all up - when did he have time time to govern?

Remove the gay angle and this guy wouldn't be writing a book, he'd be hitting the "Big Mac" and "No Ketchup" buttons.

I wonder if McGreasy will have the "courage" to "tell all" about the bribery and corruption of his administration. Unindicted co-conspirator number 1? "Machiavelli"? Kushner?
McGreevey resigned because he's a CORRUPT American. Very few people in blue state Jersey cared if he is gay.

Guaranteed to be one of the best/worst whitewashes in history!! Can't wait for this one....The mind reels at the horror this one is going to be. All about personal pain and, in the end, courage to be honest with himself, his family and the voters.
What a steaming hunk of crap this is going to be. I'll bet Miracle Baby Torricelli writes the introduction.
