Natalee's Mom To Turn Up The Heat

Beth Twitty has returned to Aruba determined to turn up the heat on island authorities investigating the disappearance of her daughter.

The Alabama teen has been missing on the island more than two months.

Twitty says she wishes she could talk with Natalee: "She knows my message, that we are doing everything we possibly can, and we are determined to stay with this and to keep the pressure on."

But Twitty has set a tentative date to leave Aruba again, September 4th, the day suspect Joran van der Sloot could be released if authorities fail to make their case.

Twitty says, "The clock is also ticking for Natalee Holloway to be found and right now, I'm looking at … September 4th, and that's all I can think about right now."

The 17-year-old van der Sloot is the only suspect still being held in connection with Natalee's disappearance.

He continues to face daily interrogations, but his lawyer, Antonio Carlo, asserts he should ultimately be set free.

"Our client is maintaining his innocence and there is no basis to bring this matter to court," Carlo says.

Twitty says she also believes two Surinese brothers, who were detained and then released, but may still be suspects, know more than they're telling investigators.

The brothers, Deepak Kalpoe, 21, and Satish Kalpoe, 18, along with van der Sloot, were the last people seen in public with Natalee, 18, before she vanished in the early hours of May 30 on the final night of a high school graduation trip to the island.

But their attorneys say they're not ducking the truth.

Says David Kock, Satish Kalpoe's lawyer, "Nobody wants for the case to go away. …People want this case to be solved."

No one, Kirsch points out, more than Holloway's family.

Her uncle, Paul Reynolds, was adamant: "No there is no end. …We are cycling back and forth…jobs and families. …We're not going to leave.

Greta Van Susterin should pay the 1 million dollar reward.
She's getting better ratings then Hannity and Colmes because of the Holloway story.

Which is amazing in itself: there is usually about 3-5 minutes of news on this case a day, max, and Greta has pretty much made her program 'The Natalee Holloway Show' for the last two months.

I'm sure her crew were bummed when they came back to the states, though - 'on assigment in aruba' sounds kinda cool to me.

My wife and I joked with each other last week by asking, "Is the pond sucked dry yet?", or "Change the channel--I want to watch a pond getting sucked dry."

Hahah, no kidding.

This case is a tragedy and a mess, but I can't stand the likes of Bill O'R (who I am usually with about 90% of the time) when he shows how clueless he is: he (and other media heads) are fixated on his straight As, premed ambition, etc.

"No way she would go along with those guys out of a night club at 1am..." they repeated over and over for most of the first three weeks of the case.

Oh really? I suppose doing well in school means you don't do stupid stuff because of sex, huh? Mr. Falafel should talk... ;-)

It continues to amaze me that Mrs. Twitty knows more than the police who are investigating the disappearance of her daughter, Natalie. It also amazes me that she is dead certain that the Vander Sloot boy and the Kalpoe brothers are criminals responsible for Natalie's fate. Is it really possible that her intuition is better than all efforts to gather evidence? So far, there is no crime scene, no evidence of foul play and no reliable witnesses to anything. Like all of us, I hope Natalie is found and any wrong-doers are brought to justice, but, so far, it looks a lot like a massive effort by Mrs. and Mr. Twitty and the American media to declare that 17 year-old boy a veritable 'Professor Moriarty,' outsmarting experienced investigators at every turn. If that is the case, I will remain amazed. But, in the mean time, it might be wise to rely on real evidence rather than emotionally heated demands for someone, anyone, to take the fall for Natalie. Has anyone looked into the possibility that Natalie has left Aruba (voluntarilly or otherwise) or that those 'fishermen' on the beach might know more than they have said so far? This is quite a mystery and will, no doubt, keep Greta and Nancy in the spotlight for a while longer.

H&C ratings were drooping before Natalee.

Tonight the mother declared that since returning home to the States she learned that Natalee got into the car with the boys because she thought it was a taxi.

So the girl has no money with her and she gets into a taxi with three strangers?????????

Maybe he should put O.J. on the case.

Before the Holloway story, Greta's Ratings were ok.
Since the Holloway story, she's beating O'reilly and H and C.
The interesting thing, if they dont find Natalee's body and Joran doesn't admit to anything.
Will this story continue in the media?
I think as long as Greta is getting amazing ratings, she wont let this story die.
Heck, neither will Geraldo and Scarborough.
Unless ofcourse you have some major story happen.

I've seen the case convincingly made that the investigation was deliberately botched from the beginning, and that there are close ties between the Dutch boy's father and the Aruban chief of police which may explain why this is so. I have not seen anyone from the U.S., family or media, describe the investigation as even minimally competant.

I have to agree after spending far too much time listening to the same "facts" over and over, day and night. Now Beth returns to Aruba after a brief trip home (never mentions how her son is doing), all fired up as if she's the chief prosecutor with forensic evidence. Boggles the mind.

Beth now "knows" that's why Natalee got in the car. She thought it was a cab. Amazing how she can get inside the mind of her daughter on the basis of anecdotal evidence.

That's it exactly--for Beth. I don't think I would be so presumptuous.

when will this end. they drained that pond, what's next, will the mother ask to drain the atlantic ocean? I heard the mother with Monica Crowley tonight, asking for the father's visitation rights to the son to be terminated so they can "break him".
