Aren't adoption records normally sealed? What would the NY Slimes be able to get that is public?
Sleazy. Just plain sleazy.
For the first time in my life I wish I was a lawyer so I could file lawsuits on behalf of these children.
Our adoption papers (we have two girls, each born in China) were recorded in the local County and are, AFAIK, public records. I understand some older adoption records may be sealed, but most, if not all, modern adoptions are public, and local adoption is usually open, meaning the biological mother has certain visitation rights.
