My grandfather is off the boat from Italy. He is from Northern Italy, near Pisa. These people are blue eyed, fair skinned blondes. They do not fit the stereotype of the Italian.

That's my point about Hispanics. It's not a "race," it's a point of origin and a language. I don't often criticize Americans, but we're incredibly dumb about this, thinking that they're all Mexicans, when even a cursory look would negate that belief. Some are "white," many more, a majority perhaps, are of mixed origin, and some are "black."
Two of my great-grandparents were blond Italians, one from Naples, the other from Catania. Neither of which is northern Italy.
Still, that's Italy. Not so many Vikings made it to Latin America, eh? ;)

Yes, the south Italians tend to look Mediterranean. The northerners can look rather Teutonic (i.e. Bavarian.)
My nephews's grandmother, grandma Racquel - Peruvian, 100% northern Italian stock, almost six feet tall, blue eyes, blond hair.
