Are you sure that wasn't Prince Charles?
To: Senator Goldwater
Letterman doesn't like her. And now this column. Wow, two reasons to admire Joan Collins.

We've become the 'Whatcha lookin' at?' culture. Why do young people consider it cool to be arrogant, swaggering and rude? Why do so many people in England seem so cynical and self-centred? >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Here is your answer Joan...10 years of this leading the free world....

The rudeness she describes is partially a result of decades of entrenched socialism, hailed by US liberals as a symbol of their greater sophistication, compassion, and moral superiority. Socialism has built a culture where a man needn't marry the mother of his children because the state, not the father, provides health care, housing, education, and sometimes food. Without a male role model, discipline (particularly that of young males) is left to women alone who often cannot psychologically much less physically control their sons. Education is secondary to the pursuit of easily obtainable material distractions and "pubbing" is alot more fun than studying. The provisions of the state replaced God and anyone not primarily focused on the secular world is considered somehow provincial or stupid.
Too bad about the bully who should have known better taking her cab. But given the morality (and private behavior and manners) of the Royals, why expect more from the next rungs of society.

Actually, I agree with Joan on this article about the descending standards of civility. Nobody has ever said she wasn't smart, BUT her reference to "yobs" (gangboys) makes me think she's read "Clockwork Orange" about 30 years too late.

Yes, Percy Gibson is 32 years younger than Collins.

Bullcrap. The US is getting corser. When I see young teen girls giving the finger and calling everyone a motherf**ker we have slid down hill.
Joan is right on the money.

Just the other day I accidentally bumped into a woman in a hotel. I stopped, turned around, and apologized profusely. She looked at me like I had just killed her puppy. She did not forgive me. I saw her again later and she snarled at me.
