can determine with precision the true cost of manufacture, ex taxes and their compliance cost, for any item manufactured in the USA today.

It should be fairly easy for many service businesses though. Esp. ones that don't use many manufactured supplies. Boortz books claims 26% embedded cost for most service businesses.

A grateful tip of the hat to the political leadership on the tax reform issue from Georgia. John Linder has done outstanding work. Zell Miller was one of the first to sign on in the Senate. More discussion in the election races there than anywhere. And thanks for your open-minded contributions in this thread.

Many service businesses are comprised of self employed individuals who have to pay a little over 15% self employment tax. I think that accounts for the bulk of that estimate.
